Seeking US dealers willing to sell to Canadians..
Hi! I'm looking to import an A4 from the US, maybe new or a few years old max. Is there anyone here who has done it and could maybe recommend a dealer? Please PM if possible or post here. Thanks a lot

Re: Seeking US dealers willing to sell to Canadians..
Go to Cars.com - that's where I found my B7 ... Many of the vehicles for sale are from dealers. If you are interested in getting someone to do the work for you, I can refer you to a guy I dealt with (in T.O.) who offers a "turnkey" service ...

New Car, New Engine Already!
I've posted my story on VWVortex but i'll give you a litte bit of a run down on what happened.
I bought my car, a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T Quartz Grey Metallic with 83,000kms, from Niquet Audi (I'll get to this shitty place in 2 seconds) for $28,000 CDN including all taxes, levies, fees and Extended warranty. I went down to the dealership one month ago to take a look at the car and after driving the car for a good 20 minutes me and my cousin felt that there was nothing mechanically wrong with the car besides some small scratches and a little nick in the leather seat that was patched up for free.
Here's a brief point summary of what went wrong with car and why Niquet Audi is a shady dealership:
- We were sold a car with bald tires, despite fact that Audi Certified cars must have 3mms or more of tread depth. Because of this we had to buy new tires just to pas Ontario safety.
- Day after we drove car back, engine was going into limp mode. Fuel sensor was changed, that did no good. Brought to Mark Motors of Ottawa, after various attempts at fixing car they determined camshafts were scored and lots of metal was found in oilpan.
- Audi of Canada gave go ahead to give me a new engine from Germany (apparantly none are available in NA )
-Because car was past original warranty, no free rental car even though im out of car for 2 weeks. As well I still have to pay $100 deductable.
-Bitched at Niquet Audi to give me new rental because its been in shop for 2.5 weeks of 4 weeks i've had it. Would not cover car
-E-mailed Audi of Canada 3 times regarding tires, dealership, and POS car.
-2 days later Audi of Canada calls back elling me i've go a free rental and the deductable has been waived
End of Story. As you can see the dealership which I purchased car from must not have done ANYTHING (and lied) for the Audi Certified check. Despite reading a lot of comments on Mark Motors service, they were a BIG help the service reps helped me get a free rental/no deductable. I realllly liked the service I was getting from everybody there including the mechanics. Experience with them was definately a 10/10.

Audi Newbie here....need your input
Hi guys,
I am currently driving a Saab 9-3ss AERO and am contemplating a switch to Audi. I would like to find out your observations on the AUDI brand, the A4 specifically and have a few questions. I know I could use the search function to find some relevant info, but I find it easier to submit a post and get first-hand feedback.
1) Has anyone here done a switch from Saab to Audi?
2) What appears to the the real-world mileage for a A4 Quattro 2.0T variant?
3) Any anomalies worth noting?
Obviously, this forum is bias'd towards Audi's, but am curious about your objective views.
Thanks
Paul

Re: Audi Newbie here....need your input
I've never owned a Saab, but I've driven many. Saab's have a great engine/transmission balance . Power flow is very smooth, from the pedal to the wheels. In stock comparison, the Saab is faster as well. The Audi has a little bit of turbo lag, but not as bad in the current FSI engines. But the transmission is a lot smoother than the clunky/stiff Saab. Audi's shift like butter.
IMO, the Audi has cleaner/tighter lines, in terms of styling, inside and out. The interior in the Audi is far superior to the Saab. The seats are way more comfortable. The cabin and trim are very luxurious. Saab's feel like you're in a cheap GM.
Audi has the second best AWD system and with some decent winter tires, you're laughing in those big snowstorms. In last year's biggest snowstorm, I was trekking through the unplowed center median, because cars were abandoned in the middle of the road. The handling in the Saab is very good but still not as good as the Audi.
Audi does have a reputation for poor reliability, but so far, the current model (B7) haven't had many problems and with the current warranty plans, isn't even an issue.
You should just test drive a couple of Audi's and see how you like it. The sport versions have a lot crisper handling and tighter suspension.
