oco133 , please accept my advance congratulation for your Q5 ...

warcity , thanks , patience is the only thing that I have now , called up the dealer once again today ( its now a weekly affair ), still no news as to when the system will get updated with the production date .. have been told to check back in another 2 weeks for the date atleast .. I really hope my delivery date as in contract stays for mid Jan and not get extended like oco's ...

Think the delay was my fault. When originally ordered they said mid October, the about a week later I changed the order to add the adaptive headlights and rear airbags. Still hoping for an earlier delivery but will be dissappointed if it shows up after christmas. Waiting sucks!

I don't think changing order in first couple weeks has impact on delivery date. I have done same, changed some options and have been told by my dealer that delivery date will not change.

Last month they keep telling me that my car was in production, last week they told me mid December delivery. I've heard others in the forum ordering later than me and getting an earlier delivery date. Not sure if its a dealer issue or they just dont want to commit on a date.

Much depands from allocation abilities for given dealer, some have bigger allocation pools then the others, so if you go with smaller delaer - you can expect later delivery date.

It may also have to do with the type of engine you have ordered? I have seen posts on other forums suggesting that the 2.0T which is in high demand has longer wait times.

I was finally able to get news on our vehicle yesterday, we ordered in Mid July, with an initial delivery date of Mid October. in september was told it was delayed until Mid November.

Yesterday the dealer checked the system and apparently a VIN should be created for the vehicle sometime this week. The anticipated arrival at the port in Halifax is now Nov 15th.

I'll be talking to my sales person on Monday or tuesday for a more concrete confirmation of the VIN being assigned.

Ours is a 2.0T.

The sales manager did offer a ray of hope for those with delayed vehicles, he mentioned that normally the vehicles are shipped via rail from the port if they are unsold or on schedule, but audi will often ship the vehicle by truck if it has been delayed, saving up to a week or more depending on your location.

Went to my Audi dealer yesterday to look at a rubber cargo mat for the Q, and happened to meet my sales rep.

He mentioned that all the 2.0T are sold out for 2011 -only a few 3.2 avail. but will soon be sold out as well for 2011. -Anyone else hear about this? 2010 is still not over and 2011 all sold out?

I'm glad I ordered mine early in the year.
