Pat: I bought mine at Audi Prestige DDO. -I went to Lauzon in July and they had a Teak Brown
demo which I test drove. Very nice.. it's different.
Initially I ordered from Audi Prestige on Highway 40, but after almost 2 weeks after signing and leaving a deposit, the sales rep calls me and tells me that my Q5 was sold, and was encouraging me to buy another model with more options as it would be available for delivery sooner. I found it all too fishy and decided to cancel the contract, get my deposit back and went to Audi DDO. They also didn't want to honor the full supplier discount for which I was entitled to. They said because after July 1st the amount decreased by 50%, I insisted that my contract was signed prior to July 1st, but they would give it to me.
Audi DDO honored my full discount, no questions asked. and the service was great.

Only problem so far with my Q5 is after 3 days of picking it up, I expereinced a stress crack on my windsheild. Starts below the bottom molding and moves upward 4 inches then turns 3 inches to the passenger side. I took it to my dealer and they confirmed it was a stress crack, and am schedule to have a new windsheild installed early next week. Thye had to order it from Germany.

 

That's a an odd one. I wonder how they missed it during PDI. At least they're fixing it with genuine parts which is nice. Congrats once again on your new ride. You'll love it.

The windsheild stress crack happened 3 days after taking delivery.

My dealer advised me that stress cracks do occur from time to time usually right after manufacturing or a short time after. I did alittle research on this on the net and learned that it can occur due to improper installation.
I'm glad they are replacing it.

 

cracking windshield due to stress is not uncommon, my other car is a 09 mini and it happened when it was 6 months old, BMW replaced it free as they considered manufacture defects.

 

Pat: I also ordered mine from Audi Lauzon. Waiting for Nov. delivery. Lava Grey/black interior S-line, Nav. and B&O.

Rocco: Audi Prestige in Ville St Laurent did the same thing to our receptionist. She put a deposit on a 2010 model and then a few days later they apologized and told her it was sold and made her buy a 2011. She was not happy at all but didn't assert herself. These guys shouldn't be allowed to get away with this kind of bait and switch tactics. Definitely foul play. You did well to cancel and go elsewhere.

Regarding Drive Select i too had the same reservations regarding long term reliability. It is a recent technology so there isn't enough history to determine if it would be headache free in the long run. Besides, it is probably something people use for the first couple of months and then just leave it in Auto mode.

I think I just found my winter tire/wheel combination.

Audi replica Ingolstadt 18" rims, with Toyo Open Country G02 tires 235/60/18

For around $1700 installed.

I have had Toyo winter tires before and absolutely loved them, so the only choice I had to make was on rims. These are sweet.

I think these rims are the ones, or if not, they look close. I found this image online:

Hi Friends ,

I ordered my 2.0 Q5 in just a few days back. Delivery in December / January ( worst case ). Just want to know if any one of you have also got the winter tyres or not with the car. I will do majority of driving in Toronto and outskirts , so do you advise spending 2 grands for this?
