B5/B6 clutch (no flywheel)
to be honest with you it was a courtesy detailing from the service department due to on-going issues with my car so i'm not sure what package wad done. they did polish it as one of the issues i brought the car in for was to take spots off my hood. interior was impeccably clean. wheels, tires, inside/outside windows the works i presume.
do you know who they use? i thinking about going to the detailer directly rather than through dealership.
If you think this issue is getting old, then imagine how those affected feel.
Im starting to lose my patience with this inoperative door unlock button when recoding the instrument cluster to Canada. Its about time we got to the bottom of this.
1. VCDS can force the doors to unlock with an output test regardless of whether the cluster is coded to Canada or USA (direct electrical connection to the CCM).
When Coded with Anything but USA:
2. Not only does the door unlock button not work, the trunk release also doesn't work. The gas door does unlock.
3. Even with the cluster removed, the door unlock button doesn't work.
4. Even with a new Canadian cluster, the door unlock button doesn't work.
5. When removing the key from the ignition, the doors don't unlock (if coded to do so)
6. The doors DO unlock by pressing unlock on the keyfob (IR signal to the CCM) and mechanically when the key is inserted into the locking mechanism from the outside (drivers door only).
VCDS can unlock all the doors. The keyfob also unlocks all the doors. Both of these 'solutions' bypass any other mechanism in the car.
The door unlock button doesn't unlock the door. Removing the key from the ignition doesn't unlock the door. This happens irrespective of the cluster being connected or not. This suggest to me that there is something else telling the CCM not to unlock the door.
Therefore,
Can anybody add some insight into this problem? Please?

Therefore,
- not a CCM coding issue since the doors can unlock by other electrical mechanisms?
- not an immobilizer issue?
- any device that unlocks the door seems to do so because it is directly working on the CCM (i.e., no intervening parts) or a mechanical solution?
- the instrument cluster is signalling and storing information in another mechanism in the car that is creating a conflict?
- because it is only the door and trunk unlock button that is affected, it reasonable to assume that this mechanism is at least partially responsible for theft-deterence?
- the only mechanism that comes to mind that may be affected by the instrument cluster, that is not the immobilizer and is concerned with theft-deterence is the ECU, which also happens to contain regional information about the car that may be corrupted by a 'foreign' coding conflict?

Having problems with my 06 A4 Quattro S-Line 2.0 lit turbo 6 speed Tip. Check engine light is on and have a code B310B. Also when idling, feels like it is running on three cylinders at 800 rpm, then on its own revs up to about 1500 then idles back down. When on the highway and downshift from 6th to 4th, car goes like it should, when it shifts to 5th, sometimes it feels like a governer is holding the car back.
Anyone know what the fuel pressure should be from the fuel pump in the fuel tank?
Also the pressure from the output port of the high pressure fuel pump on the engine block?
Anyone had the code B310B?

Sorry for the newbie question, but are there different clutches for the quattro and non-quattro models? Or is it the same clutch and I just have to remove all the extra ****? Thanks!
you've recoded without this issue arising?
i've tried dozens of different codings with no avail. i use the calculator found on a4mods.com. i've also read that the door not unlocking from the inside is caused by the anti-theft system not disengaging properly. oddly enough I can't recode the CCM without the "Activate Alarm System" byte selected.
i now have my CCM coded as: 7786
Flash on When Arming/Unarming Alarm System, Activate Alarm System (can't be unchecked), Locking Via Speed, Comfort Functions with Remote, 1x Flash When lock with Remote, Horn Sounds when Lock With Remote, Door/Window Logic - windows work for 10 minutes after Ignition off and no door opening, Normal alarm system
selecting or de-selecting "no safe-function" makes no difference
thanks

Hey guys,
I recently picked up my '02 3.0. So far everything has been great. Right now my power folding mirrors have stopped working. I checked fuses 24,31, and 38 and all are good. The passenger side moves about 1mm as if it is about to go and then it stops. The driver side does not do anything. Anyone have this issue before?
My driver door lock also stopped working while using the lock button on the remote.

I have both and live in Saskatchewan (harsh winters). My wife drives the BMW and loves it. They are both different, my Audi feel lighter and has a smoother, quieter ride and the ESP will let you hang the tail out a bit before coming on. The Bimmer is like a tank and it's ESP gets on the job right now! Both awesome in the snow. By the way, both are shod in Nokian WR's. I have replaced 2 front boots on the BMW though and none on my Audi. My wife used to hate winter driving, now it doesn't really matter.
The answer for your question is it depends. What year of audi and bmw are you looking at?
The older xdrive on bmw sucks. Really no comparison there. Quattro wins that.
The newer xdrive and quattro are about the same as in they both do their jobs very well. But ask yourself this, would you rather sit in a bmw or an audi when it's all miserable outside. Audi wins
