Default Re: HELP! The Dealership damaged my Audi!!

As I said my last post, the resale is too low to bother with.
Since I'm a capable DIYer, I'll drive it until the frustration of repairing it outweighs the utility of an AWD wagon in winter.

Default Audi Uptown Nightmare!

Has anyone had any issues with Audi Uptown in Markham?

I bought my first A4 from them in March and it came with a extended warranty and was supposed to have the 300 point inspection done.

When I got my car the lighter never worked, the headlight was shaking, the gas tank door wouldn't pop out and just recently found out by my mechanic friend at BMW that the lower control arm bushings were dried out and cracked.

I took the car in and asked them to fix this stuff and to do a proper 300 point inspection. When I got the car back my BF was looking at the inspection list they gave me and noticed a lot of little things that made him believe they never did the inspection. Im sure you all know what the sheet looks like and how there is an N/A box for items that are not on my car. They were marking OK on stuff that wasn't on my car and saying OK for things that were not repaired.

Everything I took my car in for were untouched but listed that they meet Audi Standards. I'm sorry but cracked bushings, lighter not working, shaky headlight, AC filter smelt like pee are not up to par as far as Audi Canada is concerned.

Also on the sheet the manager never signed off on it and it simply looked as if the mechanic went down the list and checked them all off without looking at the car.

So I called and made a stink and sent an email to the owners of the dealership as well as the general manager telling them how unhappy I am with the service I am getting. I work part time at BMW and the option to get a BMW was there for a better price then what I am paying now. But I chose the Audi because of the customer service I thought I would be getting.

I gave them a second chance to fix the car and when I got it back again this stuff is still not fixed. The AC still smells like pee, the bushings are still cracked, the gas door doesn't pop open and I still have to use my finger nails to open it.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I deal with this issue? How effective would it be to contact Audi Canada? I love my car...It's pretty and I don't want to get rid of it because of a bad experience with one dealership. But if things don't get better I will have no choice but to take legal action I think.

my bf keeps telling me I should have bought a BMW since he is bias and I am starting to agree with him.

Have you tried going to another dealership? Some are better at customer satisfaction than others. Document, Document, Document everything.

I have not had any dealings with Uptown so I am not in a position to comment either way, however, I have had dealings with both Oakville and Hamilton and find them to be substantially different in terms of customer dealings.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply.

I am keeping all emails and all paperwork in regards to this issue. I will be taking my car to another dealership that isn't owned by Downtown fine cars in hopes the can shed some light on these items and if they meet Audi requirements. As far as my friend at BMW says, these issues wouldn't pass their standards and I think Audi would be the same or better?

I don't think I bought a lemon either. I just want the customer service I rightfully deserve regardless if I bought less the an S-class. We all have the same logo on our grill and All Audi customers should be treated the same.

Totally agree!!! You and anyone else is deserving of "outstanding" customer service whether its an AUDI, BMW, Hyundai, or some used S**t box.

Try another dealership and let us know the results. Perhaps others might recommend a dealership that they have had success with?

I hate Uptown. I live around Kennedy and 16th and I don't even go there even though it is like 2 blocks away. I rather drive down to Agincourt to get my car serviced.

Seriously, avoid Audi Uptown at all cost. I am not sure where about you are but Agincourt is quite good. The mechanics know what they are doing, never had a problem with them.

number one would be to NOT post it all over the internet. You've now made an enemy of the dealship as a few of their employees are frequent audiforum.ca visitors

number two, if you weren't happy with the service at the dealer level, would be to call Audi Canada. They will most definitely get involved.

HOWEVER...I find it odd that you and your boyfriend work at BMW, yet you bought an Audi in hope of 'better customer service'. I've never heard of that as a reason to buy a car...let alone when that car is made by a direct competitor to my employer...at a higher price than my employer offered on a similar car.

All in all, nevermind the pee...there's a smell of fish in this thread.

Sakimano

I'm not really sure why your post is so harsh. I was simply asking a question and it was going quite well until you shot off at the mouth.

I never once said my boyfriend and I work at BMW. I said he Drives one and I work there part time. And really? Who cares where I bought my car or what type of car it is? I was working at Toyota and drove a Jetta, does that make it wrong? I have never heard such garbage garbage in my life. I bought an Audi because I think it is a better car. I work in the service dept at BMW and I see some of the dumbest problems. What I will say is the customer service I 100% better at my dealership then the service I have received.

As for making enemies at uptown? I took that into consideration and to be honest I hope they are reading this. What are they going to do, cut my brake lines, burn my house down? Get real.

I cam here for information on a public forum about a problem I was having. I got some good answers and some nice people helped me out. Then you come along and try to make me feel stupid about joining this forum to try to find answers.

I won't be coming back here. The smell of garbage in the last reply made that decision for me.

Here is a previous thread with someone who had problems with the dealership. Although this problem is different they still had to deal with the dealership and this might help in deciding what to do.

Again, good luck and PLEASE keep us posted.
