Default anyone seen this problem..Loss of power to driver side door

Howdy

I just lost all electrical control functions of the driver side door...no button lights either except for the l.e.d. by the window which is solid, not blinking when locked.

all doors lock except the driver side.

all other door functions (on respective doors) work.

so no window control, rear trunk release, mirrors etc at all.

anyone seen this problem....just a fuse maybe?

centre position of the central overhead map light is on all the time, not off and on with door operation

thanks for any input....

P

Default Project Nemo, couple questions before i start

Well i am trying to sell my car but next weekend will be known as project Nemo. I have chosen this said name as i have the stupid nemo mirror so i may as well be proud of it :P Anyways couple questions:

1) i am finally going to install my valeo 1 piece headlights with my hid kit, does anybody have a picture of the trimming i have to do?

2) i need new spark plugs, is it just like my corrado and if i use some certain plugs will the car run funky? Should i just stick with basic bosch ones?

3) I bought the s4 12 piece front end rebuild kit, any pointers or helpful hints while doing this? luckily it came with all new hardware so my worst fear is taken care of lol.

4) I believe my power steering reservoir is leaking, has anybody had this before? any tips or hints on to stop the leak?

5) Stupid question but i want to know the size of the exhaust piping after the y as i am going to cut out the rear resonator, and would much rather drive around with exhaust on rather than mess around, if i remember its 2.5 but i haven't actually haven't opened my Bentley yet, and if i don't have to i would rather not as it is unopened and i have a buddies i can borrow instead.

6) i am also going to do my passenger window regulator. I do not have a rivet gun and was wondering instead of riveting in the new regulator can i use really short bolts and nuts and just bolt it in, or will it interfere with the regulator?

I need to do another o2 sensor, bank 1 sensor one. I am running a mustang o2 sensor in bank 2 sensor one, and am going to wire up another mustang o2 sensor for bank 1, i have had no problems so far.

7) would anybody want me to do any DIY's for any of the above projects (other than spark plugs as that is stupid obvious)? hopefully after this my car will be running like a champ and not feel so loose in the front end and it will get rid of the dreaded CEL i have had since i got the car 4 months ago.

BTW this is the car it is going on, 1996 audi a4, 2.8, 5 speed, quattro. Its lowered on H&R cupkit i was told and other than the DEPO 2 piece headlights and hella tails its stock:

Default What in the world is that noise?!!?

Ive noticed that whenever Im driving there is a significant amount of noise coming from the back of the car. It sounds like a reving noise. I know the intensity is proportional to the RPM of the engine.
When I take a sharp turn, the car shudders and Im wondering if these two symptoms are related. I know the shuddering is because of low differential fluid. Could the other problem be the same??

It's probably a wheel bearing dying. if so you will notice it gradually getting louder over a period of a few weeks. You can check it by jacking up the rear wheels off the ground and turning them by hand. if its the wheel bearing it will 'feel' rough and you will hear the noise coming from that wheel hub.

Another way to check the wheel bearing, if it's bad enough, the center of your wheel will feel warmer/hot compared to the others, as the increased friction generates more heat at the hub.

If you've just done a lot of heavy braking though, it's not as effective. Spinning the wheel and comparing the resistance is better I think, this just saves you jacking the car up.

Default AC/Heat Blower Fan fuse blows every time I turn the heat on

I have a 2000 A4 1.8T Q. The other day the fan blower stopped working. The climate control is still on, and I can adjust the temperature, but the fan doesn't work at all.

I pulled the fuse (#25) and noticed it was blown. I replaced the fuse, and after about 3 seconds the new fuse blew as well.

Any suggestions?

I don't know if this would affect it or not, but the AC compressor siezed about 2 months ago. I don't care about having AC, but I definitely care about having heat.

Please help!

I have a 2000 Audi A6 - same exact thing happened to my car (Well almost) - it did not sit for awhile but one day blower, turn signals. On my Audi, there is a bank of relays under the driver side dash, one of the relays (mine is marked 213) had a unreliable contact due to oxydation. It is a 60 amp relay so don't replace it with a standard 30 amp auto relay. I simply pulled the relay, cleaned the contacts & replaced in the socket. You may just need to wiggle it in the socket, you may need to replace your relay. All my accessories work good as new now - everytime. You may need to poke around to find the relay bank on your car - some cars are in the kick panel, some are under the hood - hope this helps.

Default Light Life??

What's a reasonable service life for the light bulbs on my 2003 A4?

I've had to replace the Left & Right Headlights, Left Front turn signal, both the left & right rear tail/brake lights, the rear fog light, and the right and the left front fog lights. I've spent more than $350 replacing light bulbs. Of course the real cost is the time it takes getting repaired.

I love the car - it runs great, but this irritant is a real puzzle. Any advice? Anyone else with this problem?
