turn on the radio and press and hold the menu for 5 secs and a bunch of options will appear you can switch in between them by pressing menu again!

Independent fog lights:
Switch the country setting to Canada using VAG-com!

Illuminated blinkers when the car is locked and off:
Ever parked in a dark place for a few minutes but scared that someone might not see your car? Press the blinker to the left or to the right depending what side you want illuminated and lock the car this will not drain the battery all that much but dont leave it on all the time useful for a few hours!!

Using VAG-COM you can program it so the windows go up and down with the remote lock unlock!

Using VAG-COM you can program so the car locks at 10mph!

Can the Window Pinch work on any car, or Audis only? I have one that is non-audi and my windows stick bad, to the point I almost want to sell my car. :(

Yes you can, change the Country coding to USA and they will stay off until you turn them on manually. But this will get you pulled over and you might get a ticket. Canadian law states that we have to have DRL (daytime runing lights) on any car built after 1998??? Not sure if that is the exact year but around there somewhere

Re: Tips and tricks......for your audi

If you want to sit in the car and listen to the radio, do you have to turn the ignition switch to the point your DRLs come on?

S4zAudihere 01-18-2008 06:33 PM

Re: Tips and tricks......for your audi

Listeningn to music isnt the problem, the radio turns on but the heat and such doesnt when the car is off.

1move 01-18-2008 07:30 PM

Re: Tips and tricks......for your audi

you dont even have to have the key in the ignition to turn the radio on! It stays on for an hour and automatically shuts off

Re: Tips and tricks......for your audi

I cant seem to get the throttle trick going, i tried calibrating it with the pedal half way just to see if it responded any different, and it didnt do anything. am i supposed to turn the key to the start position and not press the clutch>? is this only for tip cars?

1move 01-20-2008 01:14 PM

Re: Tips and tricks......for your audi

it isnt for tip cars only! Do not press the clutch, but turn the key to the start position where it is only illuminating the dash,(before the starter turns) and then follow the procedure but make sure that you push the gas peddle all the way down as in our cars there is an extra inch of gas when after you assume it is pusshed in all the way

any idea if you can turn off the annoying buzzer when you open the driver's door when the car is running?

Lagman 01-25-2008 08:43 AM

Re: Tips and tricks......for your audi

Its is possible to stop the annoying beeper that tells you that you need gaz or windshield washer everytime you start the car? I have an A4 2002 1.8t Quattro automatic...it REALLY gets annoying, please help!!!!

1move 01-25-2008 09:28 AM

Re: Tips and tricks......for your audi

yeah there is............................ FILL IT UP! It's not there just as a reminder it means you actually need this stuff. Okay washer fluid I can see beeing annoying but the gas one not so much... because the lower your fuel the harder the pump works, the life of the pump is then compromised by you being lazy. So if I were you I fuel up anytime I pass the regular gas station or dont get it below the 1/4 level.

Storage under steering wheel? Everything flies out when you hit the gas!

1move 01-25-2008 05:29 PM

Re: Tips and tricks......for your audi

It's at an angle so its very hard for me to picture it flying out but hey sh!t happens, and it is usually meant for your owners manual and it has never flown out on me

Re: Tips and tricks......for your audi

I think the A6 storage is pretty flat, but when you open up the 4.2 everything loose in the car is gone to the back. Good excuse to keep a clean car!

Day Time Running lights became mandatory on cars built for Canada from 1990. However you don't need DRLs to pass a safety check.

Sure the settings can be just changed to what they were. What setings were you thinking of changing?

I was thinking of just changing the beeping when the seat belt is not on and I'm just sittign in the car. I'm not worried about eh window thing yet.

Is there a list of what can be done? I read that people are doing this and that but if there an offical list or something?

Also, I'll make sure your time is compensated.

There are a few things you can turn on and off.. Go to Diagnostic Procedures - Ross-Tech Wiki
to see a list of things that can be turned on and off.

Let me know when and what you're interested in doing to the car. What year/model car is it ? What engine?
