Re: Gas mileage

Just got back from a Regina->Calgary trip and averaged about 9.5L/100km on the way there with the cruise set about 135.

On the way back I didn't even bother to check as the roads were terrible(at least 15 cars in the ditch) with a lot accel/decel depending on the conditions.

Re: Gas mileage

With my Audi A4 1.8T 2005 Quattro

350-380km "only city" (90% city and 10% highway) ~ 16L/100km
400-480km mixed (50% city and 50% highway) ~ 12.5L/100km

And I drive slowly... I love the car, but I think gas mileage is very bad on my car...

Is there something I can do to get better gas mileage?

Re: Gas mileage

Check tire pressure, air filter and oxygen sensor.

Re: Gas mileage

Wow I must be really f'ed...I'm only getting like 270km's on a full tank in my 01 A4. I was actually coming on here to post something about my gas mileage. This is still after I had my engine flushed and new syn oil and filter put in as well as a new air filter.

It's all city driving right now but I only drive like 5 mins to work and back everyday. Could the lack of driving hurt the gas in my tank? Tank says 470 on the gauge when I fill up but I'm only getting like half of that.

Is that with the a4 or s4? if you've got the 2.7t I wouldn't expect the greatest gas mileage but still better than that. When was the last time you changed your air filter? fuel filter?

Re: Gas mileage

I have a 2009 A4 2.0T Quattro tiptronic. Average 9.5L/100km (75% highway), I drive gently.

My observation:
15-18L/100km downtown core
7L highway at 100km/h (over 800km a tank)
10-12L suburbs

I also notice the trip computer reading (C1) of gas mileage is 5% off (use more gas actually)

Weird not sure why my profile said S4....but it's an A4 1.8t. I changed my oil, oil filter, air filter and did an engine flush like three weeks ago.

If you only drive for 5 mins and it's a Winnipeg winter then all bets are off as far as good MPG are concerned in my opinion. Take it on a normal drive for at least 20 mins and you may get a better idea of fuel consumption.
