Re: Gas mileage
For better gas milage i strongly suggest using your cruise control as much as possible, it truly saves as when you use your foot you tend to speed up and slow down (a small amount) and this affects your mileage fairly significantly.

Re: Gas mileage
Hi all,
first off, I would shoot myself if i were to get less than 600km on a 100$ tank. I have my 2004 A4 1.8T for about 2 months now and I have yet to get less than 750km per tank. I drive highway & city and am stuck in traffic a lot and occasionally have a heavy foot, but so far I have always been able to get at least 750km out of the tank. |
Re: Gas mileage
You should have your fuel pump and filter check for any leakage. You may also want to change your sparks plug. As for mileage with a 1.8T 2001, I will do up to 850km on highway and around 600km in the city using high octane fuel (super), so at 350km there must be something wrong.
My 2 cents |
Re: Gas mileage
Hi,
I have a 2001 a4 2.8. I usually get around 450KM per tank. This is using supreme and includes both city and highway. Is this normal for my car or should I also be getting way more KM. Thanks |
Re: Gas mileage
I drive a 2006 A4 3.2L Quattro and I get about 450-500km per tank, however I do 90% city driving and tend to have a heavy foot and like to hear my engine purrr when I drive. Just curious on other peoples average gas mileage. I usually check by resetting my trip meter when I fill up.

Re: Gas mileage

Re: Gas mileage
I drive 2004 1.8 , I get 700-750 kms normal driving, 50% city, 50% highway. Wauuu 350km:shock: is very low, i get 390-400 for half a tank.

Re: Gas mileage
I've been getting over 600kms, I drive sensibly, just did a Seafoam treatment to the intake and injectors, and I can go for almost two weeks on a tank of gas. I have been paying between $70 and $80 bucks though. I should also add that I drive 60km round trips from home to gym to work to College and back home. It's been 50% city and 50% highway too. I know it's crazy. I'll see what difference a fuel filter change will do for my fuel economy.
