Update: Had Water Pump replaced. VIN was on the recall list. MY 2010 Sold July 09. So, if your VIN is on the list it is an automatic replacement.

 

Emailed Royal Oak here in Calgary and no reply as of yet. Guess I should get on the horn and double check.

No one but the dealer has the list. If you're not on the list you're fine. They told me for all the ones on the list it's automatic change. More of a preventative action.

Dealer did not run diagnostics, as already mentioned if the VIN is on the list, automatic replacement even if nothing is wrong with your water pump. All changed now. I got lucky they had it in stock, dropped it off at 9 was ready by 2.

 

I am happy for you. One less thing to worry about.

 

Thanks Eddie, I hope we all don't have to go to the dealer for at leat a year (unless it's a scheduled service).

 

Finally phoned Royal Oak and not on the list........guess different build dates equates to different parts supplied and used during assembly. However the service dept encouraged me to check back as the "list" is updated daily and to not wait for a recall letter from Audi.

 

What a pain, having to call each day that sux. From what I gathered, it's all of 2009 and first half of 2010 (manufactured date). This is not formal, just something off the record the service advisor told me.
