I know 8000k temp is not as bright as 4300K temp. I do most driving either in the city or on DVP. So I don't really need the brightest, I am more for the look . I just hope the after switching the Xenon bulb to 6000K or 8000K, the LEDs don't look so yellow when both lights are on.

Don't worry the LEDs are quite white see my LED in the pictures below. If you're in Toronto, meet the guy up (he'll meet you at Woodbine and 16th area) this way you don't pay for shipping and you don't have to wait. I might change mine up to 5000K or 6000K soon, I figured if I loose some brightness worse case 15% with the 6K then my amber Fogs will step in and compensate. I'll give you instructions on how to change it all it's so ridiculously easy and fun. I am even willing to meet up if need be I enjoy doing this stuff.

Yes head light and LED DRL both same temp 4300K so if you change your head light and LED to 8000K your DRL will look a bit brighter which is quite mine. I might change my head light to 5000K still debating between it and 6000K. I do a lot of night driving so 8K will not be bright enough for me.
In that case, this will be a walk in the park for you. I am going to top the hood tonight to see if the OEM Ballast is 35 watts or 55. I really hope it's 55.

Hey Soni: Here is a couple of pics of found. I learned that 5000K is 1.5% less brighter than our stock 4300 and 6000K has a tint of blue and 15% less brighter than our OEM. Our OEM is the brightest but with a tint of yellow. I might go with 5000K.

I have tried 6000K on my BMW, but I like 8000K better. Suprisingly, the 8000K that I have on my Mini Cooper, it is very bright. Brigher then the OEM which is hard to believe. Maybe the OEM bulbs is a about to go or something. Anyway, will try 8000k first and see how they match up with the LED. I will keep you update in next few weeks after I get the Q5 and bulbs.

Awesome - yeah let me know. One thing to note though BWM projectors are much better than Audi's. So an 8000K in a BMW or mini might actually "look" brighter than one in an Audi. In order to get to the bulbs in the Q5 you need to more a couple of things to allow for hand room. I am going to check it out this week and see how easy or hard it is. Also if I change I am going to do so with out disconnecting the battery and see what happens. I really would hate to loose my navi and radio settings.

I learned today that D3S and D1S are the same bulb in terms of connections so both will fit the Q5. The only diff is that D3S is the Mercury free version of the D1S which is obviously better so more and more cars that use D1S will switch to D3S in the coming years. It's better for the environment. My contact is selling a pair of 6K D3S for the Q5 for 180 CAD. I might meet up with him next week and replace it. The 6K will emit 7% less light than the stock OEM 4300 that the Q5 comes with but doesn't have the yellowish tint that we currently get on the Q5 which I absolutely hate.

I will post pictures in a couple of week.
