I know it's a LONG thread, but I mentioned earlier on my order date was August 17th, 2010. From Audi of Mississauga.
Update, I just received notification that my Q5 is at the dealership!
I am scheduled to pick it up Saturday January 29th, 2011.
ya, that's 24 weeks... ouch!

I want to sell my current vehicle, but don't want to get stuck without a car. So when do dealers know the delivery date?

I thought all this was over the top UNTIL I received a note from the dealer that my Q5 had shipped. I ordered it on 23 Sep 2010, its production date was 10 Jan 2011, and they said it is scheduled to arrive in Halifax 26 Jan 2011.
Assuming the carrier is Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistic, and that the Audis are loaded in Bremerhaven, then mine must be on the Fidelio, as that is the only ship with a post-10 Jan sail date and arrival date on or before 26 Jan.
For anyone else expecting delivery the second week of February, the ship's schedule is:

I can confirm that the Fidelio is in Southhampton today - next stop is Halifax!
... as long as the winter storms don't cause something like the "Oberon" photo above
I'm tracking it at FIDELIO - 9332937 - Vessel's Details and Current Position

Just curious and stupid question. Did they give you other ETA dates before that? Just because most are saying that they can get some in April/May now...

The dealer will have it ready for me on Tuesday. That is exactly 4.5 months from order (Sept. 23, 2010) to delivery (Feb. 8, 2011). It is also consistent with what my dealer told me when I ordered - a February delivery.
Only a couple of days to go!
