I have a friend that told me that because BMW kept promoting that people could receive X3's within a month, they are now experiencing the same delays as Audi...

So he got a little sporty fully loaded 1 series BMW. It's really nice.

my friend I agree with you that the q5 is indeed sexy but the x3 is really not too bad. The previous gen x3 is hideous yes but the new one is starting to grow on me. With the stories i'm hearing about audi (s5 and q5) makes the x3 even more appealing lol.

Forums always have the bad stories... People rarely talk about good experiences. Have you read the BMW ones?

For months we were debating between the X3 and Q5. I also wanted to see the new X1. We went to the Montreal Car Show and that's when we made our decision. We got to see/sit/try out the gadgets in all of the SUV/Crossovers, including the new X1. Always go on the first day, vehicles still have power. It's a great way to compare all of the options.

Best of luck in your decision.

warcity is absolutely right with his statement, Audi is VERY big on customer service. Gujjudesi420, you must make a distinction between Audi and it's dealers; they are not one and the same. Unlike Mercedes-Benz, each (except one) store is privately owned. Each store has its own way of doing business, just like how each store manager conducts his/her business and sets his/her own policies on how their staff are to sell the product. They sell/service cars. Anytime you have issues, you can call 1-800-822-AUDI (2834) to speak with Audi Canada. I am on the phone with them at least once a week assisting my clients.

There is a great team behind us, mainly in Ajax, and I truly hope that you do not allow an ongoing issue skew your perception of the Brand and the company behind it. In the end we are all free to purchase cars from whatever dealer we like. You have OMVIC to help as well.

I hope that in the least you are learning from your experience. PM me if you ever need assistance at the dealership level. I am willing to lend a hand.

Cheers,
Paul

Thank you Paul, for offering your assistance its very kind of you...
the reason i was not happy as what the manager told me and agrees with me that it should not take this long to get my car. What Audi Germany is telling them is delayed due to sline. my expectation is if they are big on customer service and i hope they are as you guys have experienced, i am sure they have all access to all orders they got and when it was build and delivered so there for they shouldn’t ask the dealer to provide examples. also if dealer was big on customer service they would/should go and check the orders they have processed during same time frame as me and provide the examples to Audi Germany...
I think i got unlucky from both dealer and audi
hope i get the car soon and put all this behind and start from scratch...

1/2 month after I got VIN, the dealer told me the car is to be delivered to me in one month. So tatally could be 1 1/2 month after having VIN. I cancelled the car, and in the same day, got a RDX tech model, saved 10K (5K price, 5K interest) in total. I got the car two days later after the deal.
Now I have driven the car (RDX) 200KMs, feeling it is not as good as Q5 in aspects of quiteness, smooth ride and interior materials, but still enjoying its power, agiliity, navigation and voice controls, convenience facilities, etc. Hope its reliability won't dissappoint me after 4 years.

Your dealer does not have a contact at Audi Germany, they only have a contact at Audi Canada who can tell them the reason for the delay if it is factory/supplier related. There was a production delay on S line in January because the supplier to the factory could not provide enough of the tires that are used on the S line pkg so only orders without S line could be built.

Demand for the the Q5 is high all over the world and the factory can't build them fast enough. Canada gets a portion of the production spaces each month and them assigns them to the dealers. The number assigned is different from dealer to dealer based on their annual sales volume. Most dealers will take the order even if they don't have a production spot that month. This is why there are delays of 4-6 months or more.

When your dealer took your order in November, they may not have had a production spot. If your delivery date is April then your car was built in March. It only takes about a month to get here after its built. Your dealer should be able to tell you when your car received a production spot.

The S line delay was a few weeks so if your dealer had orders before yours with that package, they would fill their production spots in order. If they didn't have enough that month to fill your order, they have to move it to the next month and so on. If another dealer said their customer ordered the car in December and they are getting it in March, it means that dealer had enough production spots to cover all the orders they had.

Hopefully this answers a few of your questions.
