Re: Anyone Interested in Winter Tires ??
awesome. If the price is reasonable, I'm in for a set of 205/65/15. Where are you getting the tires from? Thanks!
BTW, why not Dunlop Sport Winter M2/M3/3D?

Re: Anyone Interested in Winter Tires ??
Its from a Discount Tire and the reason why these and not the dunlops which are also very good is b/c of the price. This store has given me the best price of $750 for a set installed and taxes in. Everywhere else i have called for the same tires would be $200 more, so im hopping if i get more people he will drop the price.

Hey guys i need your help.
Im looking into buying an A4 B5 2001 (5spd), but im not sure which one i want the 1.8T or the 2.8. I was doin some reading on the msn autos and it seems that both of those motors have potential problems, the 1.8 has issues with the vacuum hoses, and oil gelling (that is if its not looked after). While the 2.8 has water pump issues. It also says that audi issued an 8 year warantly unlimited milage for the oil gelling problem. So my questions are, which is the better choice? And does this 8year waranty actually exist for the 1.8T if so is it in Canada also? Also which one has more aftermarket support for performance parts? Ur help would be greatly apreciated. thanks.

Re: Hey guys i need your help.
I owned an B5 A4 2.8 (12v engine) and other than poor gas mileage i didnt have any trouble with it. The 2001 B5's had the 30v engine which i had in my '99 A6 - also no trouble.
The 1.8T engine is a sweetie in my opinion. Have that in my 2001 GTi lightly tuned and at 70000km it has been troublefree other than the occasional issue with aftermarket parts.
1.8T: Better on gas WAY more tuneable and probably has been on of VW/AUDI's longest line of engines untill the FSI's came around. Remember the basis for the 1.8T dates back to the late 80's early 90's - We had that the regular 1.8 with Fuel injection as the first GTi engine in South Africa!!
2.8 30V: Sounds great not terribly tuneable ( if that matters to you) so so gas mileage and not bad torque compared to the 1.8T (stock)
By the way....my A4 had control arm issues...only lasted a few months to a year and had to be replaced. Expensive since i was out of warranty. Audi knew about the problem and changed the material later on...not sure about the 2001's.
Why not look into the a nicely used B6 A4 1.8T??? Prices for the 2002's not bad right now...

Thinking of buying a used A4
Thinking of getting one! I really like the looks of it anyway, and all the options it comes with! I have yet to take one for a drive, but that's on the agenda for this weekend.
Not buying until December, but wanted to get some reviews on it!
