This precedure might be working but it is not factory recomended.
Most of customers taking their car to a service station expect the repairs
to be done the proper way.

Your car had an air lock in the system and we had to make sure your engine dosen't over heat. I don't understand why you have used this forum instead
a phone call to talk to us? You have picked up the car and left and it seemed
you were happy.
Give me a call so we can resolve this.

i didn't create the thread to bash your shop or to start any sort of dispute. i created the thread to seek advice from other albertans who have had good experiences with other shops. i was looking for another shop because i felt that you were dishonest with me in some ways. i am not bitter or angry about it, and i was fine with walking out the door that day because i knew arguing wasn't going to get anywhere. so instead i looked around and sought advice from others on a new shop to take my car to for the clutch replacement. i am sorry for bringing this up online, but you asked what my problem was so i told you.

oh and i never heard anything about an air-lock in the system. all i heard was that the job took longer than expected and there was no real reason as to why. i could have complained and argued, but i would rather just take my business to another shop that would be more straight up and honest with me.

Sounds like Two Square in Calgary, took a VW Fox many years back for a tranny swap, for being a high end repair facility I got a lame excuse that my clutch cable was seized and they couldn't adjust it... 13mm wrench later and I had it set with out a problem... Excuses are like ********, everybody has one!

I am not partial to any shops but have taken my audi to Autobahn Performance many of times and have been very pleased with the work and the atmosphere. I'm not going to bash any shops but I have been to others that were mentioned and was given the run around so they will not be given my buisness in the future. I will go the dealer for warranty issues but other than that Autobahn will be the shop of choice.

Why do people have to resort to bashing on forums? seems quite immature and childish, if you had recieved poor service or were overcharged from a business don't you think it would be more benefical to confront the buisness directly and resolve it.

Touche man! Integrity goes a long way though, to see the cable had not even been attempted, and be told face to face with a smile it was siezed ?!?!? Is it worth going back to discuss? Sooner 'share my experience' for fellow enthusiasts to have knowledge of, sincere apologies if I got bashy!

Well I dont know your story or the details behind what or what did not happen or what your were told, but all I know is really good mechanics are hard to find these days espically for higher end car like ours. Most places you go they have mechanics that work on cars but do they have the same love for the cars that you may or may not have like at autobahn? Its you're choice but personnaly I would rather take my car to a shop where the people that work there have the same love for that type of car then some shop that has mechanics working on it like its just another job.

Dear Mark,

How can one resolve a issue face to face when the individual you are dealing with denies things that he said in the past.
I remember in detail what our many converstions were about regarding my vehicle and at no time was I trying to get a free work out of you or your company but just trying to resolve the issues at hand.
ie: after 7 or 8 months it was the water pump that was failing due to internal failure and "NOT WORKMANSHIP" all I asked of you is, if you would be willing to work something out with the other repair vendor regarding the water pump since the car was there....you refused outright to do anything to help satisfy the customer. I believe the water pump was still under its warranty time of 1 yr. Needless to say the other vendor replaced the water pump which was a cost to me because you refused to work together with the other vendor.

Yes I'm an AME (Aircraft Maintenace Engineer) with Licences on Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
I had NEVER EVER said that newly installed seals or o-rings on an aircraft leak, that's a "NO GO" in the aviation field....NO LEAKS ARE ALLOWED with new seals. But I did say that seals do tend to weep or sweat when the temperature drops which is normal...BUT...if the leak surpasses a certain amount of drops in a minute then the seal MUST be changed.

As "ryannorthcott"stated " I could have complained and argued, but i would rather just take my business to another shop that would be more straight up and honest with me.

In conclusion all I was seeking was customer satisfaction and honesty, which unfortunately never transpired. In the aviation field all airlines work together when comes to Aircraft Maintenance, be it lending parts, tools or knowledge.
Maybe your company should re-evaluate your business structure and customer relations.

Sincerely, Peter

This is a forum and everyone in here should be able to have an opinion on shops cars whatever. I don't think any shop was bashed and people in here are just sharing their own experiences with certain places. You are the consumer and can make intelligent decisions on your own, as to where your vehicle should be taken. I think that it is great that people are honest with their experiences and that both sides can learn and move on. In my opinion where there is smoke there is fire. In my dealings tune dub looks after 2 vw for me and 2 audis and I have nothing but great things to say about them.
