Thanks all for the reply. I have called Audi Canada to file a complain let's see what happens. I hope it's just a mix up or miscommunication...
I'll will update soon as I get one

You shouldn't be affected unless your dealership messed up...

As long as the order was in the queue with your name on it before Jan 5 2011 - you'd be safe. The cancellations are for orders after Jan 5 and any s-line in the queue without a customer name (Audi Canada automatically changes the orders).

Yours should be fine and that's coming from 4 dealerships that I've spoken to. I'm trying to purchase a Q5 with S-line.... I'm going to have to wait until the s-line re-opens....

I missed it by a day. VERY FRUSTRATING.

Cancellations are for vehicles timed for PRODUCTION later than week five of 2011. See Grommet's link to posting by afretes, looks like same communique I've received directly from Audi. Has nothing to do with when you signed on the dotted line, it is allocation that is of the essence. This goes back to your dealer telling you the car has in fact been ordered when there is no allocation. The dealer did not mess up, they just didn't have the allocation yet and therefore your order was not yet placed. Simple as that.

Gujjudesi420, your best bet it to go directly to Audi. It's not that the dealer doesn't want to do anything for you re: Sline order, they just can't get it to you from the factory. Consider previous post to source your own parts, it is really the wheels that make the SLine. Whether Audi Corporate will do anything for you is the question, but I wouldn't count on it. You just happen to be after one of, if not THE, most demanded small SUV's out there at the moment.

Good Luck to you.

Ill see what happens let's see.... I did think about bulding the sline with parts but i won't be able to get the sline staring wheel. I personally do not like the 4spoke steering wheel...

I was hoping I would not be tied into this situation, and I have yet to confirm that I have not. Dealer has not received, to my knowledge, the Memo of Doom. I'm hoping someone can provide some additional info here. Referring to afretes' original post, it talks about two things:

1. Cancellation of vehicles with "Actual Production Date" after week 05/2011. Mine is 06/2011 (gak)
2. "non-sold" vehicles were mentioned as the target. When I look at my latest status update from the dealer the "Order Type" indicates "SOLD - Customer Sold Order". This seems to avoid the problem for me, but I am not well-versed enough to know for sure. What's a Non-Sold Order?

Can anyone with more experience in this add any information here?
- USPAVANTWANTED, you indicate you received this directly from Audi. For an existing order?
- Alex just responded to an email reiterating the "Actual Production Date" part, but not the Sold/Non-Sold part.

I am hoping someone is able to clarify a bit for me—this will help prevent my head from exploding.

Cprg,
it is a general memo applying to all Q5 orders. It is the dealers job to figure out whether yours is affected or not. This can be done very easily with a few clicks of a mouse. I know which clients of mine are affected and which ones are not.

If your vehicle was due to go into Production the sixth week of 2011, I regret to inform you that your vehicle is certainly affected.

The SOLD/NONSOLD part really does not apply to the current Q5 situation. I would go out on a limb and say all Q5 orders in the country are SOLD up to Production week 5, this will not help you unfortunately. SOLD orders get priority for production and delivery, among other factors. If your vehicle does not pass #1 point on the memo, there is no sense applying #2 is what I am trying to say.

Really too bad, I know many who are in the same boat.

Default Updated Q5 SLine News

On January 6th, we temporarily suspended the input of Audi Q5 orders with the optional S
line package due to severe supply constraints of the 20-inch tire. S line packages were also
deleted from non-sold orders.
These measures were taken in effort to minimize further delays in production of existing
backlog of customer sold orders. While this supply constraint continues and will continue
for coming weeks, we were able to make some progress on your existing orders, scheduling
a little more than one quarter of the backlog.
While the degree to which existing orders remain potentially delayed is still of concern, we
recognize preventing the input of new orders configured to your customer’s wishes poses
problems for your sales staff and your ordering processes. It also distorts the true level of
demand for the S line package within our order and inventory systems.
After careful consideration and with the realization that new orders will experience
production delays of uncertain duration, the S line package for Audi Q5 models will be “reopened”
for customer sold orders only with the March production allocation.
In order to ensure the most efficient delivery of these orders to all of our customers, it is
imperative that only truly sold customer orders have this option applied. If this
requirement is not adhered to and we again reach the severe imbalance between orders and
component supply, we may again be forced to suspend ordering.
We will monitor the orders and production closely and keep you informed as this situation
progresses.

See the new thread posted a few minutes ago Cprg and anyone else affected by Q5 SLine production delays. I believe this will make for a great beginning to your day.

Cheers,
Paul

Many thanks for the update, Paul. I had not received any official information about a delay in my case either way, so this is great to hear.
