Re: Did anyone order the 2018 Q5
Well said... I hope we don't end up with lemons. I am going to call my dealership tomorrow to see if Audi will consider a compensation. The competition is offering good deals (NX, GLC).

Re: Did anyone order the 2018 Q5
Spoke with the sales manager at my dealership today. He said the owners are now involved and we should have a decision/update by next week. They didn't specify which part was going to be replaced. The tried to suggest that it could be cosmetics (e.g. lights) to meet the federal regulations but I think its probably something else otherwise a cosmetic change can be managed through a dealer recall or take care of during service.

Any discussion on compensation? I am going to push fo a deep reduction in Audi After Care warranty insurance. I am concerned about long term issues.

There are hundreds of Q5's on the road and in dealerships now... so does this part deficiency/recall not apply to them? if so, it should be handled the same for the cars stuck at port as it will for those already on the road... which is through recall notification. If it is a specific issue to just the cars stuck at port... then the bigger issue is why would the part or process have changed all of a sudden on a production cycle that just got started? Audi is losing credibility on this... more so due to lack of communication to buyers to who put faith in their brand and purchased a car without seeing/driving. |

Re: Did anyone order the 2018 Q5
New member, new purchaser, first post ...
I have an SQ5 on order and heading to production within a couple weeks. Is there any indication that the holds are on Q5's only or are SQ5's tied up in the mess as well? Thanks! |
Re: Did anyone order the 2018 Q5
Sales person just emailed me that mine is at 'port' too... but not released to carrier. Not sure she knows about the hold.
Does anyone know where the port is? is it vancouver? Ps... not sure about sq5's.... hopefully your car can avoid this mess... |

I'm in the same situation and wondering if I should walk away from this Q5 and order a brand new one. |

Good to hear. What was the reason for the several weeks of "Quality Hold" and more importantly, how did they "fix" it?

Re: Did anyone order the 2018 Q5
No news yet... so close, yet seemingly so far....
anyone else have any news? |
Re: Did anyone order the 2018 Q5
Latest update from my dealer this morning is that they have no idea about the release of the car from port. Audi has really screwed this up.
|
Re: Did anyone order the 2018 Q5
Picking up my car on Saturday... hoping you all have good news soon...

TT, did you pick up your Q5 on the weekend, what's the verdict. Worth the wait? Any word on what the quality hold was?
I terms of the hold, they told me it was a small technical issue but each of the hundreds of cars on hold required a VGA diagnostics, hence the delay. They also said the logistics of production and delivery from a new plant was truly tested and is going through some growing pains. In any case, hope you all join me on the road really soon! |

picked-up my car yesterday and yes... It was worth the wait as we are very pleased with the car and features so far! It's got a lot of complicated toys... Techies will appreciate it.... Takes some getting use to, but the car is beautiful. The car looks really gorgeous at night... Interior with coloured lights are very cool.

The car looks amazing and the interior is incredible. Congrats.
Mine should be at the dealership this week. Hoping to pick it up by Thursday at the latest. |
Re: Did anyone order the 2018 Q5
Mine finally arrived at my dealership on Monday. There was no sense of urgency to let me know until yesterday. I am picking it up Saturday morning because that's the earliest they can deliver. This saga is finally over, now hoping that the car is not a lemon.

Re: Did anyone order the 2018 Q5
Hey there drfe99 and wizzofoz! I'm in the same boat...ordered Navarra Blue SQ5 Technik in mid-late February & told May delivery date. Once May rolled around it was "week 22" build (end of May-early June), with deliver in late June/early July. Now being told it's build next week & probably delivery in late July-early August...uuggghhh!! How did you find your information about the delays in production & vehicles held at port...was it directly from Audi Canada or from your dealers? I'm getting very little from our dealer. I've been worried from the start about a completely new vehicle build at a completely new factory (in Mexico of all places!!)...hope I don't get stuck with a lemon!

As for the car I had the exact same concerns as you and all I can say is based on the last two weeks of driving the new Q5, I'm not worried about the lemon concerns. I know its early but this Q5, is far superior to the last one I had. Overall, Audi has blown the manufacturing and delivery of their Q5s. I know people that will not consider the Q because of the delay. It's a same because it is a great SUV. |

I am in the same boat, ordered a Teknik Sline from Audi Windsor in March and haven't received any updates. Was told would hear something by end of June and nothing. Will be calling the sales manager in the next day or so to find out what's going on. |
