New owner - greetings from Alberta
Hey Everyone,
I am the proud new owner of my first ever Audi - a 2012 Q7 TDI the the prestige package and the s line plus trim. What an amazing vehicle! I just drove it back from Texas and it was a phenominal vehicle to do a road trip in.
I'm a German car guy through and through - mostly a BMW/Alpina guy, but I have a couple of Mercedes and Veedubs too.
Looking forward to learning more and more about the Audi and getting to know some fellow owners!
cheers,
Rob

Welcome to the forum, make sure you come out to the Club meets, every second Thursday of the month. If you ever need help feel free to contact me. Very nice ride! How many km's per tank did you end up getting on the highway?

Thanks so much! Where are they held? I will try and bring the Q7 but it is the wife's ride and the kid hauler, but I will for sure make an appearance. I appreciate the offer for help, I will keep that in mind. Still getting used to it, has a lot more electronic stuff than the 2001 X5 it replaced.
As for mileage, I drove it back from Dallas Texas, and I did 3 filling milestones with variations to each:
Fill 1: Running on the 21's, inflated at 27 psi (yes I was shocked when I checked that), stuck around 80 mph, flat roads - 26mpg
Fill 2: Running the 21', inflated at 44 psi, averaged about 85 mph, more hilly terrain - 24.5 mpg
Fill 3: Ran 18" winter wheels with Blizzaks, averaged about 95 mph (love Montana), and soe very fun windy, twisty roads and hills - 23 mpg
Haven't filled since Shelby, MN but from there to home (west of Calgary) I had done 250 miles and I was at the 3/4 tank mark. I averaged about 120km/h for the trip home.
Overall very impressed thus far. The city consumption is very impressive compared to our X5 (it has the V8, so it's thursty). I'm going to get a chip for the Q7 at some point, a removable one so I can still take it in for warranty stuff without any hassles.
