TT importation _ question re bumpers
I have just finished importing a 2008 Audi TT (fully loaded except Nav).
You need to replace the front bumper, see previous post for details.
In Alberta I received a quote of $3,500 to complete so I had it done in the States for a total cost of $1,300. They had to order the parts from Canada.
Anyway the total landed cost in Edmonton was $38,000 which includes bumper mod, duty, GST and all other minor costs.

No idea what if anything has transpired. In any case I spoke to my broker in Vancouver - who brings in cars for me from US dealer wholesale auctions in Nevada and Arizona - and he said they can get the bumper conversion done under $1,500. Obviously that's far less than the $5,000 number that's been thrown around here lately. I'm going to give it a few more weeks before bringing one in to see what happens with this amendment, otherwise I can deal with the $1,500 hit. For 5k I wouldn't bother.

The car was a repo from Audi that had less than 1000 miles and is in perfect condition; even the left foot pad had no scratches.
The full details are:
- 2.0 TFSI with Premium Package
Options
- Audio Package
- Bluetooth
- Ipod Interface
- Bi-xenon adaptive Headlights
- 18" 7-arm alloy wheels with run flat-tires
Audi Canada retail price $57,000 with GST
The only negative thing is the in-service date is May 2007 so I lost one year of warranty.
The body shop that installed and painted the new one kept the US bumper.
