My experience with Opti Coat...as NEW again!
Being a car die hard enthusiast since I still own my 05 Audi A4 which is an amazing car, with still barely 50,000km and religious preventive maintenance I’ve had my ''annoying'' share of issues which can add up quickly even with a local independent Audi specialist…
Since my wife and I do around 5 to 10k/year we tend to keep our cars for a very long time while maintaining them in a great shape.
We initially wanted a Q5 however we decided to stick with the Infiniti reliability this time around for a 2nd car
Back in Dec we finally spotted a Peral White 2008 EX with barely 40,000km.
Since I saved a bit of money and purchased another set of 18’’ mags and just completed a total reconditioning of the paint
I’ve know this person who does it as a part time job who used to work at a local Porsche dealership and gave him our baby and the end result is pretty much a new car!
He did a complete paint decontamination, light buffing/polishing before finally applying this great Opti Coat clear ceramic based sealant giving the car’s paint regained depth, clarity, shine and protection!
Here's is the article regarding Opti Coat PRO and its exclusive benefits and properties.
What is Opti Coat PRO (OCP) ?
OCP is a hard wearing, aftermarket, ceramic clear coat for superior resistance to scratching and chemical etching (This may be caused by certain cleaners) and environmental elements such as bird dropping, chemical rain, etc. The coating is 2 microns in thickness, which makes OCP almost 100x thicker than most commercial waxes and sealants on the market. It bonds to surfaces the same way that layers of paint would, to properly prepped surfaces. It actually becomes the topcoat vs just sitting there for a time like other products. This is why it provides permanent protection for all factory paints. It will last indefinitely or at least, until it is abrasively removed (through polishing) on either application. OCP actually woks, no gimmicks and no need to spend thousands of dollars!
Where can OCP be applied?
OCP can be applied to your vehicle’s surface including paint, hard plastic trim, headlights, wheels, glass and more.
What are the benefits of OCP?
As mentioned earlier, OCP will create a second layer of clear coat on top of the original, which is often too thin in some of the new vehicles on the road nowadays. The factory paint will now be protected and preserved. OCP is a revolutionary permanent hydrophobic technology that will release water, dirt and grimes so you vehicle stays cleaner for much longer. Washing and drying your vehicle will be easier and faster too. Swirl marks will also be greatly decreased since your vehicle will now have a harder surface.
Swirl marks: a thing of the past?
OCP will definitely help you decrease the chances of introducing swirl marks into the paint. Is it scratch proof? No, it is scratch resistant. Two different things here. The key to a swirl free finish is the washing and drying technique the vehicle will receive from now on. These things combined, are key to a swirl free finish. Not enough lube, too much pressure, excessive wiping and other bad habits can contribute to swirl marks. But don't worry about it,MTLAUTODETAIL will provide you with a FREE training as to how to properly wash your vehicle. We also carry all the necessary products that will provide you with a swirl free finish.
What type of finish should I expect with OCP?
When a surface is properly prepped, OCP will render your vehicle with a rich depth, gloss and unmatchable protection. Optimum also recently released a new primer which increases the overall finish of the paint and ensures that OCP will bond correctly on the surface. OCP stickers are now available and will be applied to every vehicle from now on.
No more beading?
Changes in beading would be attributed to the cleanliness of the surface. You'll only need to decontaminate the vehicle half as often as you would with a waxed or sealed finish. However, it will still be needed every few months simply because washing won't remove everything.
OCP vs the "other coatings" ?
OPC should and will only be applied by certified dealers. Unlike most of the coatings on the market, OCP follows strict rules as to who applies the coating. This has been determined in order to provide the best results. The protection from OCP, whether chemical or longevity, is currently unmatchable (5 to 10 years of protection) as opposed to the rest (more or less 2 years)
Don't settle for less, and if someone is promising to match the same protection with another coating, trust me, they are lying.
