A4, Vancouver, I wanna turbo my car and I got questions
Hi,
I just bought a 2000 A4 from Seattle, just waiting for it to clear the border(72hrs)
It's a 2000 1.8T quatro w/ sports pack, winter pack, ~60K miles
NE ways, I'm interested in more hp, which means a turbo upgrade and other stuff AND I WANT YOUR GUYS SUGGESTIONS!
I have 3 priorities
1. Want the hp w/ turbo up to be 300-350hp engine wise, not whp, but I want something I can be confident won't damage my engine. I understand the nature of this will put extra wear and tear in the engine, but I want it as safe as possible as this is my daily driver.
2. I want low end torque and little lag, I don't like to drive fast on the hwy or race, I just like added pull going 0-60ish kinda thing
3. I want a reasonable price for this stuff, some places I went to said it would be 6000$ just for a turbo and chip including labour (no exhaust, no new manifold, nothin else).
Anybody know any places in the Vancouver or BC area I can get this kinda stuff done for a reasonable price? Anybody in Vancouver who has done this stuff?
Thanks

Re: A4, Vancouver, I wanna turbo my car and I got questions
Don't have any specific parts planned, I only just got the car and was looking for some opinions, or people who know places in Vancouver that do this kinda thing
The problem is I have seen kits for $800, $1500 and $3500 that all seem to do the same thing, the kit for $1500 seemed reasonable as it had the turbo, minifold, chip and injectors and got about 325hp (which I take it is about 290whp).
But I don't know squat about if any turbo kit is really better then any other and I have no idea what labour would be, so I have had quotes of up to 6000$ But that strikes me as odd since the price to turbo a NON turbo car is about that, shouldn't an already turbo'd car be a lot cheaper to upgrade as you just bolt on a new turbo and tune it (which you don't really need to if they have a chip program ready for the specific kit)
Point being, I read lots of stuff on audiforums.com, but I still have zero experience with doing this and wanna get something fun, reliable and not super expensive.... don't we all
