Posting vin# and asking for a carfax is a mistake. Ask for a car fax without posting the vin#, and then PM it to the person with the car fax. Whoever does it for you now is violating the terms, and will get their account shut down, this site is easily found by google. Just an FYI

Very true, a few years ago I looked some up for ppl out of goodwill and got a nasty letter from Carfax as they'd googled the numbers I was looking up and tracked them to a forum thread. Threatened to bill me like $1,000 for all the reports as I was violating their terms and conditions.

Also, honestly if you're considering buying a car for thousands of $$, especially an Audi where maintenance costs will be fairly high, you really should pay the $20 or whatever for the report.

Sorry, the snub mount WOULD help with the vibration since it stiffens the drive train. Without the snub mount there would be alot less vibration

Which car and engine?

Did the clutch kit include a lightened single mass flywheel? Who installed the clutch?

Snub Mount may help a little but not much. Items like good engine and trans mounts will help alot more.

Maybe suspension bushings are worn / broken spring / etc.

Default Oil Leak

I have a 2004, 3 L -Audi A4 Quattro

While driving it developed a massive oil leak. After being towed home, I checked and
it appears that the oil leak was on the right hand side from near the front of the engine. This leak sprayed everywhere on the right side so it is hard to see where it came from. The oil filter assembly on the left side seems to be fine. Has this happened to anyone else? The pan is not leaking, and the engine does not leak
when it is not running. It appears to be wet from the head down, but so much was
sprayed it is hard to tell where it may have originated.
Any ideas?? Also any ideas where to get a manual. I bought an internet DVD but I cannot make it load onto my computer.
I live near Peterborough, Ontario. Does anyone have any recommendations as to
a good shop to look at it, if I cannot figure this out.

Jim

Try Harbourview VW in Nanaimo. Ask for Brent VanRiper 250-751-1221. Worth a call.
