The plastic "Valet key" what exactly is it for and what does it do?

 

it's a "valet" key, so in case you need to have a valet park your car for you at a hotel for example, you just give them that key instead of the one you normally use. the valet key only allows them to run your car to park, but it cannot be used to open your locked glove box or trunk... incase something important is stored

 

Thats what I thought to but I tried it in the glove box and it still unlocked it as well it turns on the vehicle but will not open the doors. :S

 

you know what i've never experimented on the valet key. i'll try it in the morning, and i'll let you know my findings

 

i tried the valet key today, it only fits the ignition, but cannot open the glove box. take note, this is the key with the silver cut.
the key that is plastic all over is what they call an "emergency key", to be used temporarily if your master key should be lost or misplaced.
