Hi everyone,

I'm looking to import a 2009 A4 Avant from the US. Has anyone used this guy?

luxuryimports.info

Everything seems up and up, but I'm hesitant without some form of reference check.

Thanks, Andrew

Need to recode the Instrument Cluster to Canada using VCDS. This will change the odometer/trip computer readings only. Speedometer will continue displaying in MPH. B7's with trip computer have a menu option that lets you change units using the wiper stalk buttons.

They did the recall clearance letter for me at no cost. Audi Canada will also do it for you for free. You can get it in advance if you fax them a copy of your bill of sale. After you cross the border and have paid your fee (I did it by credit card to make it faster), call RIV and ask nicely and they fax the Form 2 right away. I had Cdn Tire do both federal and provincial inspection and then went straight to get my insurance. I drove the car around with the Utah permit on it and had no trouble-but I only drove it to the inspection and to buy the insurance. I would suggest you get a permit from one of the States and try to avoid getting the permit in BC. Probably not legal, but you'll likely get away with it as long as you have the insurance from ICBC or your provincial insurer. I even got a speeding ticket in Wa and the state patrol didn't care about my Utah tags, BC insurance and DL. Good luck. LOVE MY CAR and would import again.
Boy oh Boy,, the opinions and information are all over the map here on whether Pre-owned extended warranties are honored by Canadian (Ontario specifically in my case) Audi dealers or not.

Congrats Glen!
I bought a 2006 audi A8L Silver on Black last week. Crossing the border took 10 minutes on the US side and 40 on the Canadian side. was relatively easy. Got to love those Customs agents. They diddle daddle around moping around the office and are about as much enthusiasm and help as icicles on banana's. I often wonder how enthusiastic they are when there children say daddy (or Mommy) how do i do this or how does this work? i wonder if they get even an ounce more happy cheerful I am happy' energy than they display at their work?

Anyway love the car. it drives and looks like a dream. However the day after I got it to Canada, the left side motor of the power trunk looks to not be pulling it's weight and the right side lifts slightly higher and then gives up and the trunk re-closes. I have to actually give it some help to open. Not sure yet what is involved to fix that or how much or if a DIY'er can manage this one?

I called Audi about a newly CPO'd S4 out of Chicago. Appears that they were honouring the CPO warranties up to a point, and then changed their mind. So if the CPO warranty was issued before the cut off (some time 2007 or 2008 I think?) it will be honored in Canada. Newer warranties are worthless up here. I asked a couple dealers selling CPO'd S4's how much they would knock off the price given that the warranty was of no use to me - one was firm at $1000, the other said their cost - $1800.

If anyone is looking at importing an Audi with CPO warranty, get the VIN and call Audi Customer Care to confirm if it's valid up here.
