Default 2018 Q5 Transmission lag

Noticing a lag when I accelerate after braking. Switched off Auto Start/Stop and it seems to help but ran into the issue a few times on the weekend, and once on the on-ramp to a highway which was scary. An error message suggests the transmission may be hot and that I need to alter my driving style, which really doesn't make sense for regular stop and go traffic in the city. I think it might be linked to Start/Stop where the car decides to switch off the engine but it never stalls, and results in the transmission not going in gear. When this happens, it seems like I am accelerating in neutral.

Anyone else noticed this?

Wiz, I too have notice the lag it appears to be when I approach stop signs or going slow and put the breaks on. It is almost like it is confused and does not know of it should auto stop the motor or not.

You should get it checked out in case there are any issues with the transmission. My car has 200km only and been at the dealership since last week. They are struggling to figure this out

Tell me about it. Picked up the car and didn't get to drive it for a week due to a business trip. Came back and almost got run over by an 18 wheeler because the car won't go.. needless to say, I am not happy.

More bad news. They have ordered a new transmission from Germany I don't know when I get the car back. Should I contact Audi corporate to waive off my payments until I have the car? Should I ask them to replace the car?

This is incredible. I don't recall, are you leasing or did you buy. If you are leasing and have no plans to purchase I would be looking for compensation. Are they giving you a loaner?
If you purchased it I would be looking for a return. whats your dealer saying.

Thankfully leasing, otherwise I would have blown a mental gasket. They did provide a crappy service loaner but it doesn't make sense to be making a full payment to drive a loaner. I will try to find someone in Audi Canada to address this.

Not it a good start for sure.

Wiz, the dealers not willing to do anything for you. What's the ETA for the transmission? I've known it to takes weeks for parts to arrive from Germany.

I have made as much noise as possible but nothing yet. They will update me by next Friday, and most likely it's going to be "need a few more weeks because blah". I need to call Audi Corporate.
