I suggest a strongly written email to the President of Audi Canada (one of his customer services lackeys.

Re: 2018 Q5 Transmission lag
Update - Audi is changing the valve body on the transmission and this should resolve the issue. Parts received and my car should be ready on Thursday.
Also, given that I only had the use of the new car for 3 days, Audi is refunding my first month's payment.
Not bad Audi, good to see proper follow up from my dealer and from Audi corporate!!!

More bad news... car was not fixed. They have now ordered additional parts and possibly will replace the whole transmission. ETA is another 3 weeks and that would make it 6 weeks without my car. I am not sure what my options are but I really want to cancel this lease and go get something else that is readily available (GLC, Lexus NX, anything that works)

Re: 2018 Q5 Transmission lag
Happy to report that I picked up my Q5 after 7 weeks in the shop. They changed a whole bunch of stuff including the transmission. I think I need to write a blog highlighting the quality issues at Audi. While I understand that parts or electronics components can fail, I don't expect something like a mechanical transmission to be bad out the gate at the factory. That's just pure bad quality.
