Default Cracking sound???

Hi I am new to here and I have a 98 A4 avant 2.8 and a week ago I drove over a pot hole and started to have some cracking sound every time when I stop the car from stop sign and when I turn the steering wheel.(Just the left side front wheel)

I thought it is my fluid was low but it wasnt...so hope you guys know what is going on...maybe the CV joint?

oh and 1 more thing.. I am having trouble of fixing the third brake light(the top one from avant trunk)
anyone knows how?

THX!!

cv joint, ball joint on the control arms are good possibilities. Jack the car up, and wiggle the wheels and check for anything ripped. Not safe driving with those broken.

Not sure on the cracking sound but maybe I can help with the brake light. Is your question how to remove it?

Just noticed you have a '98. It may be different than what I've seen. I could send you a scan of that page out of the 2002-2008 Bentley manual and you could see if it's close enough to help you.

could also be your bushings or tie-rod ends.....you have to wiggle the wheel pretty hard, with your hands at 2-8 o'clock position and 3-9 o'clock positions.
