when is q5 2.0t coming canada?
Easily, if not more. It is the best thing that can happen to the Q5 IMO. The best and most popular engine in our lineup by far.

Don't pay any attention. These guys don't know what they're saying. Their only worry is that releasing the Q5 at a lower price will make their Q5 3.2 seem "common". WOW! as ridiculous as this sounds, it is true.
The 1.8t/2.0t is and will be the best engine VW/Audi uses by far in any weather condition.

I'm not sure what the references on winter were for, but I'm going to wait and see first what people are getting for real world F/E.
The 2.0T will be carrying quite a bit more weight with the Q5 when compared to the A4 and the A4 is no lightweight to begin with.. so far the F/E I am getting on my B8 is mediocre (just under 10L/100 with 70% highway).
I can see the reasons why it was decided to market the Q5 with the engine, but I am on the fence on whether it would really have any real world gains vs a bigger 3.2 motor especially if the 2.0T will have to be always "on boil" to move all that weight around.

Hi Afretes:
It's not that we don't know "what we're saying" these are opinions being stated in a forum that allows everyone to leave opinions. What's being said is that a 2.0t engine on the Q5 will reduce the resale value of a 3.2 engine. People who are in the market for "used" cars look at one thing 4 cylinder better than 6? Yes of course it is. Hardly anyone goes out there and researches the fact that a 2.0T engine uses up same if not more gas than a 3.2. They also will not bother researching weight to power ration and all the other important stuff that only a certain group of people who value cars and engineering might take the time to research.
As far as I am concerned and a few others here the 2.0T engine pretty much puts this car in the same calss as Rav4 and CRV. A luxurious SUV in this class with this kind of weight and power shouldn't come with a 2.0T engine specially since the so called "best" engine as yous stated has oil problem which for some odd reason every single Audi staff "avoids" talking about.
Once again let me remind you that this my "opinion" so although it might seem that "I don't know what I am saying" I still think it should be somewhat respected.
Thanks.
Cheers.

As far as the noise goes as asked by wanderer1980, when my wife and I first drove the Avant the salesman pulled the car around for a test drive. We both jumped in and I was about to push the start button, then realized it was already running! Ya it was a little throaty on acceleration, but I have driven many 4-cyl and it wasn't any noisier but it was a lot smoother. For those that say not to drive it in the winter, that's ridiculous! Give the 2.0T a try and then decide.

Wouldn't the curb weight be less on the Q5 2.0T? A5 curb weight for the 2.0TFSI is 3,583 lbs. , the 3.2 FSI was 3,770 lbs. for a difference of 187 lbs. around.
Most reviewers have also noted that the A5 2.0T is more balanced and handles better than the previous V6. Maybe this might be a prefered trait in the Q5 as well. I guess it just depends on what you want out of your "sport" utility.
Let me make a few things clear:
- In Europe TDI engines are big and rightfully so it makes sense and they have much better diesel quality there than here. But here it is certainly getting better and I'd love to one day own a TDI car. But comparing North America to Europe is like comparing an Orange to an Apple.
- I am not "trashing" the 2.0t engine in all the threads. I am simply staying my "opinion" in this one thread.
- I enjoy and very much love Audi's that's why I own a Q5.
- I owned a 2.0T A4 for 6 years. I love that engine but NOT for the Q5.
and lastly. I am not looking to argue or disagree with anyone. If you don't like what I have to say you don't have to and the same goes with me.
Cheers.

My experience is of course great with the 2.0t A4 otherwise I wouldn't' have kept it for 6 years.
However I will not like that engine on the Q5 as indicated above. Also, I will state my opinion on multiple threads if they're all talking about the same topic. and lastly I am not trying to be exclusive. I am pretty sure I am not the only one with a 3.2 Q5. Manufacturers can offer whatever engine size they want, as a buyer I will asses my needs and buy the one that suits me similar to what you'll be doing (or have done).
