when is q5 2.0t coming canada?
There will be slight turbo whine and a little bit of sound when the bypass valve activates but overall turbo engines are quieter. The exhaust gases pass through the turbo and muffle the sound significantly. I remember taking off the centre resonator and muffler on my B5 A4 and it was still pretty quiet. Some folks make their turbo cars intentionally louder with blow-off valves and after-market intakes. Now whether an I4 is louder is than the V6 is up for debate but turbos do not automatically make an engine louder.

I wonder if these will not be an issue when the 2.0TFSI is used on the Q5?
The Q5 will use the exact same engine as the A4 2.0 but the chassis is a bit different so the wind noise on the high-way might be a bit different, you should wait another month and test drive it when it comes out.
One thing I love about the Q5 is that the roads aren't flooded with them. The 2.0t will definitely change that. There are lots of folks out there who will be attracted by a lower price tag and also by the fact that on paper it's a 4 cylinder car not realizing that a 2.0 liter turbo engine and a 3.2 aren't far off as far as the gas consumption is concerned.
This will simply ensure a market flood. I personally am not a fan of this approach. Once again this is just my opinion.

Right on billyjean. Many consumers shopping for used cars will simply pick 4 cylinder over 6 (it just sounds better) even though 4 cylinder might use as much and in some cases more gas than 6.
2.0T in Canada makes absolutely no sense at all. We have harsh winters, so to even consider a 2.0T in a vehicle of this nature is just corporate suicide for Audi in Canada...IMHO.
RIP Q5 if the 2.0T actually does lands in the great white north.

Pardon my ignorance, but why would the 2.0T not work in the harsh Canadian winter? Do turbo engines not work very well during very cold weather?
2.0 in any AWD is an issue, Canada demands the best for our winters I can't imagine the 2.0 doing well in the winter with the weight/power ratio, for the record my 2.0T VW GTI (which is much lighter and minus AWD) will be parked up nicely in a garage over the winter as I have no interest in testing the theory on the turbo aspect.
I never had a issue because of the cold with my 2000 A4 1.8T, 2004 A4 1.8T or 2006 A3 2.0T. Not to mention the Golf 1.8T my wife drives. The Q5 3.2 did strand me in the middle of winter at about -20C with a failed coolant pump
