Once the Q is shut off (after driving it and it doesn't matter the lenght of time), about a few seconds later we heard this kind of like electronic pumping/dumping sound coming from the back and it lasts a good second.

I heard it once when I was about to open the gas door to fill it up (so I had time to search for my credit card, get out, swipe it, select the gas - and then the weird noise). That was about a month ago and thought nothing of it because I thought it was the car next to me. This past weekend, we park underground and when we were just about to walk away from the Q, when we heard it again and it was much louder this time. Lasted about a second.

Have any of you exprience this? I'm about to bring it in for it's first oil change and don't known what it is and how to reproduce it. I'm thinking that it's the fuel pump, but it doesn't last long or do it enough to figure out what it is.

I did a search and found the fuel pump control module problem, but they hear the noise when driving or the vehicle dies/doesn't start. Ours is off and and does the weird noise out of the blue.

Ann, it does sound like the fuel pump.

Yeah, I get the same noise on my Q7. Like Mike said, it's the fuel pump.
