Default Q5 Tint and Must Have Accessories

Ordered my Q5 (premium/nav/black/cin interior) at the beginning of April and was told probably June...so while I wait need some advice....

Want to tint the two front windows to match the back window tints...should I just get the dealer (mississauga audi) to handle this or is there somewhere in town that does a great job...what am I looking for to ensure that this is done properly? What's the going rate?

Also, while I'm waiting... I'll be in Buffalo for a couple of weekends and thought I'd take advantage of the current soaring loonie (fly baby!) and get some toys (accessories) for the Q5...any suggestions?

Thanks everyone-great forum!

I know from other car dealers that they do not do tint jobs themselves. I would ask Audi Mississauga who is doing the job for them.

Accessories? I guess depends all on your interests... warcity did some cool LED 'enhancements' check it out...

Hey congrats on your car. We have identical cars cool.

I used a company called tint master on 3 of my cars (not the Q5) they do incredible work with lifetime warranty. Google them they're all over the pace. For 2 windows you're probably looking at a couple of bills.

I changed all the interior lights to white LED (10 bux a bulb) through a eBay power-seller who is in Toronto. I also changed the fog lights to HID through the same person. I can connect you with him if you're interested you can PM me.

The car is so gorgeous there isn't much you can do to it to make it look nicer but again it's all about personal taste. I am however getting a dealer installed S line grill next week. I'll let you know who that goes.

Cheers and congrats once again you'll LOVE it.

Go to ebay in search type "Audi Q5 headlight OEM". You can get OEM pair for under 600 dollars. Pay Audi 2 hours of labour (around 240) and they install it. Bare in mind you also need to spend another 100-150 to buy the HID kit. This is also a nice DIY project if you're willing to take the bumper off yourself (yes bumper needs to come off for this job).

Hey warcity, thanks for the update, i bought the headlamps this summer... and took it to downtown audi toronto and they told me it needs new housing kit and it will cost me 2200$ to do that, one of the guys from parts recommended that i visit this website and find an answer, because one of the customers got the same thing done.

so i have the head lamps but they dont fit in the switch on my car.... any idea how to get this done

This is how I understand it:

Your currently uses regular bulbs/wiring. You but a plug and play HID kit for about 110 dollars. The HID kit fits in your "existing" wiring/switch. You then simply place the new HID bulb inside the new headlight housing. ALL done. I think Audi is making it unnecessarily complicated/expensive. I am 100% confident this can be done.

PM me and we'll talk.

all the need is the HID kits for Q5 with the bulb and then i take that to audi and they can fix it for me. is there anything else i need for this ??

Hi Daddy: we'll discuss this when we talk but Audi will not install HID for you. They max they will do is install the light housings. You need to install the HID yourself which is very easy. Only area I am not 100% sure about is if you can power the LED using your DRL pre-existing wiring. I'll have to do some research on this.

Yes you can use HID kit for fog light I am doing that right now. You'll need a 2nd kit for your fogs.
