Q5 Roof Racks and Bars
I find the positioning of the Audi roof racks to be too far back. So far back that a typical Thule roof box has less then adequate support at the nose. Has anyone every had an additional set of holes put into roof bars in order to move the bar farther forward?
Silly question perhaps, but it would be good to know if it has been attempted successfully!

I'm interested in purchasing a roof box, so I am curious to see what your Thule looks like mounted. As far as drilling new holes, you'd be on your own on that one. I've never heard of anyone performing such a mod. But, I bet there are some out there that have come up with a solution. Let's hope they chime in.

Re: Q5 Roof Racks and Bars
The roof bars are fitted with a sensor connected to the vehicle esp. Fitting the bars changes the vehicle dynamics to account for the higher center of gravity. Drilling additional holes would defeat this engineered safety feature. You might consider a different box manufacturer or just "make do".
