Q5 25k Service without Audi Care
Just before Christmas the Service vehicle reminder came on. Because my Q5 was a US vehicle, it doesn't have Audi Care.
I called the dealership closer to my home, and the adviser asked for my VIN, so I did and I never heard back. So I called the other dealership, again I had to offer my VIN, and I also never heard back.
So between Christmas and New Years I called again. I got a quote for the service, and I promptly scheduled an appointment.
I took it in and the service adviser told me a different price than what I was originally quoted, and it was relatively substantial. I replied that it was not what I was quoted. Apparently the person who provided the initial quote (who also happened to be the service manager) forgot to include the pollen filter. I was definitely not happy and all the manager could say was "I am sorry."
Anyway, I got the car back and the cost went down a little bit. So my question is why do can't Audi have a standard rate like other brands. When I take my Lexus in for a routine service I know how much it is going to be!
It made me feel like Audi dealerships just pull a number of the air; it leaves a very unsettling feeling.
To conclude if I am to buy another Audi down the road in Canada, make sure you get Audi Care as part of it. Chances are I won't be though. I think I am going to save up and get a Tesla Model S.

Something to think about when you import a US vehicle in to Canada. Warrrantee is covered. Non warrantee items at the discretion of the dealoership. AUDI CARE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR US VEHICLES.

The service rates should be similar and audi care is an extra package added to the vehicle at point of sale or within the first year of ownership if I recall.

just for clarity on audi care; i'm on the west coast and my q5 is us origin. given that i live close to the border, audi care is valid at any dealership in the us. for me, it is a 30 minute drive! may not apply to many but just wanted to clarify for those that live near the line ... cheers!
