Good point. I have emailed my sales guy for clarification and will let the forum know what I hear back. It is what it is I guess and if it is plastic, I have 3 months to come to terms with it! That interior photo Quartz52 posted still looks great.

Our order form was very light on detail. Q5 2.0T with Premium Plus trim, the colours we selected and sunroof option, along with a price. It didn't go into any detail beyond that.

Okay... my dealer (Queensway Audi in Toronto) advises that all of the cars coming in have the original aluminum trim.

You will note that there is a statement "trim not available" on the Canadian Audi site for the Q5:
Audi Canada > 2011 Audi Q5

Interesting... I see that too. So is that vague line intended to tell us that ADS is out and Platinum trim is in? I see on the Standard Equipment page under Interior the following:

- Aluminum doorsill and window trim
- Micrometallic Platinum Trim

A mix of aluminium and plastic? Is the platinum trim plastic? I am taking a loaner Q5 out this weekend from the dealer. Need to see what is in this model again and confirm if mine will be any different... Oh, it is going to be a long wait until May.

Emailed my dealer and was told the problem has been rectified and my Q5 coming in March will have the aluminum trim.

I saw the brushed aluminium trim today, and the cheaper one as well. The later is cheap looking indeed.

Good to know jlr_1304. My Q5 is currently floating on the sea so there is not much I can do about it either way, but I emailed my dealer to find out if there is some detailed factory summary he can access to determine what was actually installed. Might as well know ahead of time.

Does anyone know if such a "factory-installed summary" is available once a vehicle leaves the factory?

My dealer tells me that mine escaped with the alum., so I will hope for the best.

I haven't seen many s-line models up close in the flesh, so I liked your comment.
Mine's upposed to land Feb 28. C'mon, baby, don't sink!

Q5 2.0 S-Line, Lava Grey, Pano, Nav, ADS, B&O, Adaptive
