Hi Tchiga: I made the same mistake, his issue is not with shuffling, it's with the fact that after car being off with 10 minutes the car forgets the shuffle option. It's normal behavior.

Sorry to bring an old thread back to life, but...

I am currently driving a 2010 A4 (loaner) while (still) waiting for my Q5 to arrive.

Just an observation based on the A4 I have been able to test out, however it is not a Nav system, just Audi concert with B&O with one sd card slot.

I picked up two 16GB class 10 cards, and loaded them up. And my sd cards stay in shuffle mode every time it starts up, even after a couple days of being parked. And also continues where it left on in the song.

I love it that way... which is the way it should be. There has to be some option somewhere to change it.

If the car can remember preset radio stations, it can remember your sd card settings.

Cheers,

Anders

Interesting.... I have tried all tricks and couldn't have shuffle to stay on after car is off for more than 10 min. It remembers where it left song, but not to shuffle. Intriguing thing is that it remembers to play specific folder all the time if you tell it to (no matter how long car is off), but forgets to shuffle. It's been tested with others and behaves the same way. Looks like A4 is different then....

i have the audi symphony system with the SD card slot, and mixing has not been a problem as long as i don't take the SD card out. the only problem i have is that i can't put all my songs under one directory, as it seems to overload the player, and half the songs will not show up on the playlist

oh, and also, the mixer has some sick affinity to avril lavigne songs. 'random' , apparently. hahah

can you use the "tracks" play list as "the one directory"? My mixer has an affinity for Backstreet Boys.
Oops, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that...

not sure what u mean, but if i dump ALL the tracks in the one single directory, half the songs go missing (can't be read by the player)
so i have to put all my songs in separate folders. the mixer mixes everything regardless of folder, so that's good.

anyone else has the same problem of songs not being able to be read?

How many songs do you have? Limit is 4000 per SD media and 1000 per folder...

its just the problem with the MMI.
It doesnt remember the shuffle option.
Personally i think it's a "glitch" Audi didnt notice, im sure an easy update from the manufature will do the job in the future.
Btw, its the same for me, doesnt matter where the songs are, folders, directories, jukebox,sd card, the shuffle option just wont be remembered.

but yea, lets wait for the update.

Same here with my MMI+Nav.

Update will be as long as Audi folks have the report on thier desk and are authorize by the dept to implement it.

Is there a way to find out what "improvement" will (should) be part of the next MMI update?
