Mixing songs on SD card issue

Re: Mixing songs on SD card issue
I think Tomasheks problem was not that he could get the mix option to work on his SD cards, but rather that when he turned off his vehicle and came back to it, he had to reset the option again rather than the system remembering that he had set the music to music to mix previously.

You are absolutely right. My apologies. I read the issue yesterday and wasn't thinking when I conducted the test. I will do test again and go through the full cycle to see if I can replicate his issue.

You're right guys, mixing is not an issue. Problem is that system is not remembering to mix it again after car is turned off for more then 10 min.

I will assume you are using the same key fob, as I have read many settings and preferences are saved to specific remotes...
Have you tried an ipod or is there a usb input?

There is the patern to it, so I think that how it was designed.

Re: Mixing songs on SD card issue
I have been reading the online version of the Q5 manual, and it says you can hook up any external hard drive through the usb or mini-usb port in the glovebox, and play music, movies and pictures that way.
Is this true? and if so, has anyone done it?
I am curious as to how it is controlled in the MMI, and if it would be a viable replacement for the ipod.

Interesting point you're making. I know that the input in the glovebox is an audio only input so I can see you being able to "maybe" play audio files via an external hard drive but I doubt video. The DVD play does play original DVD but it can't play any avi files.

Thanks Warcity,
If it only worked for audio files, I would be happy!
Even the largest ipod is only 160GB, and almost $300... where as an external HD can be any size, and very cheap.
I would love it if anyone has tried this (USB hard drive for audio) could comment on functionality.
Thanx,
Anders
