Lost all sound

Lost all sound
Ok, So I'm driving through the streets of Toronto listening to Sat radio ( new Nov. 2011 Q5) and radio cuts out, I thought it was a lost signal but checked radio and media all with no volume. I used main system button and steering wheel volume control all with no results. Had an appt. with Audi and service rep said 32 vehicles in front of me with no room to service till next week. Anyways, does anyone have any suggestions till then to get my music back (without removal of battery or anything too obtrusive)? I've checked other posts & forums and the only thing I can find is a blackberry/ bluetooth issue but service rep doesn't think this is the problem and is probably software/ control module related issue. Happy New Year all Audinutz!

Re: Lost all sound
Was the Q5 picking up radio/sat stations but just couldn't generate sound? or was it not even able to pick up radio/sat stations?
I'm assuming the issue was also when you got home? (occasionally I temporarily lose the GPS signal (on the Garmin) around the financial district of downtown T.O.). As well there's nothing interfering on the roof rack or random mud, gunk, bird poo, on the antennae? Maybe wipe down the antennae even if there's nothing obvious.
If you're at the service, maybe you can also convince them to update your MMI software (if it's not already the current version) for the inconvenience that this has caused you and your family, etc...

Re: Lost all sound
Couple of things to do is:
1) Call Sirius and have them resend the signal
2) reboot the MMI. To reboot the MMI follow step 14 of this page and ONLY step 14.
VIM login-code generator for MMI 3G
Rebooting MMI does not wipe or erase any setting it's perfectly safe. It's like rebooting a computer.

Re: Lost all sound
I agree, I would reboot MMI first and see if it helps.
Did you listen to the music very loud? Keep in mind that B&O has to broken in too, and your Audi is new.
Let us know what service found.

Re: Lost all sound
Yes the B+O is broken (in) all right, wasn't listening to it that loud. Button order has changed from Warcity's diagram and setup button is now on right side of panel. I tried different combinations to reset MMI which did not work. If someone has 2011 reset please post, will recheck manual but don't remember seeing it. I will post update Tuesday after service appt.

Re: Lost all sound
I have no idea why Audi would move the setup button it's the same generation car same generation MMI I hate it when this do things like this that make no sense. Anyways
Did you try setup, middle button and top (left) button at once?
I just confirmed as well that the manual book does tell you how to reboot the MMI please have a look.

Re: Lost all sound
Grommet, I remember seeing MMi reset procedure in manual, I have 2011 too. Unfortunatelly I can't have a look in it right now, otherwise I would check it and let you know. Have a look one more time, it shows there.
