Lost all sound

Re: Lost all sound
I have performed an MMI reset which is through the programmed settings and went back to default settings including registering Sirius signal with no volume to be had. There appears to be no 3 button button MMI reset for 2011 (yes I did try setup, middle button, top right), if someone can locate page and which of the 4 manuals its in please fire away. One thing I have discovered is how damn quiet the Q5 is, almost complete silence. Either way I'll have a few extra Bourbon Manhattans tonight!

Re: Lost all sound
Grommet, I'm confused now. Did you actually reset your MMI?
I just check manual and it shows there how to reset, page 37. And I have 2011 MY.
If you did try it and it didn't help - then likely it needs to be checked by dealer.

Re: Lost all sound
Well I think I'm close. I do not have MMI Navigation plus manual (ie. no navigation) just MMI basic plus, I believe. So you probably won't be able to help me but thanks for trying. That is probably why my setup button is on the right side. I'll still have an update on Tues. after service dept. get their hands on it, aside from pulling the battery I've tried every reset in the manuals.

Re: Lost all sound
Update on all lost sound. Blown B+O amplifier after 1 month & 1,500km service tech said first time he's seen a B+O amp go, must have been Sirius liquid metal channel. Tech said he gave me someone else's amp which just arrived from Germany...so maybe someone else's amp went too? Oh well something to monitor in the future as I don't think it would be a cheap fix out of warranty.

Re: Lost all sound
I am glad it's figured out. What's odd is the amp is blown yet your audio CD was working. Strange indeed. Perhaps there is a dedicated radio channel. Oh well. Glad all it's well.

Re: Lost all sound
Hey Warcity, not sure if I said Audio CD was working in previous post but it was definitely NOT working, no sound to be had. I thought they were going to peg it on the LED interior lights Good to have my tunes back, now onto HID fog upgrade.

Re: Lost all sound
Oh man I have the same problem 2010 q5, was driving and it just cut out. We never listen to radio loud. If these amps are this prone to failure I am worried about the cost to fix it after warranty period is up. Now I have to wait two weeks for appointment so they can tell me what I already know thanks to op, then another x weeks for them to order the replacement, boo
