08 Q7 question to owners

Thinking about getting q7 4.2 for my wife, I've searched and searched and found not much or only negative feedback,
My heart tells me to get it but my head says don't, I like the car but don't need problems, should I look elsewhere

Is the neg feedback due to the 4.2? Personally I'd go for the 3.0 TDI
