Re: Police problems?
oh yeah...i have a very very subtle body kit....but i know a lot of people with japanese imports getting pulled over and towed. I'm just wondering if this is a sterotypical thing going on.

If the car passes as it sits with etest and certified then all is fine! IMO alot depends on attitude toward the officer that is speaking to you! Make sure your papers are in order and be polite! My son uses this method as he is pulled over frequently due to his unique car - '92 Skyline GTR RHD - well tuned! No problems with the officers!
IMO again - most officers don't know the mechanical end of things and think they are on top of the import scene. If you are mechanically inclined and can quietly challenge the officer about the technical things they usually will back off or contact the MTO.
If you nothing to hide then don't worry!

I'm from northern Ontario and the only problem I have had so far is because I trimmed my front license plate to make it smaller. The officer pulled me over and just gave me a warning and told me to buy new plates. Apparently, cutting up a license plate is an automatic court citation, no fine, straight to court!!!
Here is a pic of the modified front plate.

It is deemed an altered plate - I personally don't think so - you have changed the "identity" of the plate - the blue trim may be gone which could confuse someone or you have hidden the words on the plate like ONTARIO etc... It is all in the HTA.
