Talking Coil-overs 2005 a4

living in Barrie, ON and was told that coil-overs won't last very long because of the salt and sand....just wondering if this option is right for me, or should I invest in something else?

should be fine, just make sure to grease the coilovers before every winter to make sure they don't seize in case you want to adjust them. but a lot of people don't bother changing the height once it's set anyways.

another option is to just get aftermarket springs and shocks.

what would be the price difference between those two options? Can you suggest a brand name for both options? I don't need top of the line, just practicality! Thanks

if I just do lowering springs that are 1.2" drop, do I need different shocks too? How will the ride be? Will I need an alignment kit?

Since we live in Canada and they like over salting our roads, I wouldn't put them inless you plan on storing your car in the winter. My friend had bad salt issues with his 300 ZX, winter came alittle fast and he decided to drive it to go store it, end result seizing of 2 coils. In a matter of hours all it takes is salt to get in by the top and your basically ******.
