Hey, so this is the story, last night we had a huge snow storm and i had to drive from one town to another for a party, I went to the party and when i was leaving i went over to my grandmothers house to shovel her driveway at 1 am while she was sleeping and then went to drive home, when i started my car i got in and started to drive. After about 2 min my auto Air suspension light on the dash came on and stayed on. This has happened before so i started the car and then went for about 2 min more and then it happened again, I then restarted my car again and tried to put my car up to the highest setting, it went all the way up and then i started to drive again but the light came on once again. I tried to restart the car once again and it went out again but not when i pressed the lower button the lights would flash for about a min and then the light on the dash would appear and then the lights would stop flashing and stay on the highest setting. I know usualy there is a problem with the ait pumps or the air bags but this would cause the car to lower a bit over night and this did not happen. I was wondering if anyone knew of a sensor or something that the snow might have knocked loose and just has to be replaced for the Air suspension to work again. Any help would be appriciated, im planning on taking it into a mechanic in a few days after christmas to get a few things done but i would like to know a bit about it before he tells me that i need to replace my compressor or something that cost $3000 or more.

 

check the codes with a vag
but it does sound like a sensor, check that the plastic arm on the leveling sensor is ok too

 

Were is the plastic arm?? sorry i just bought this car about 6 months ago

 

Ok so i managed to get the car to come down to level 2 by means of putting in the garage and then starting it the next day and it the buttons worked and lowered the car but now the susspension light is on, on the dash all the time and when i push the raise/lower buttons nothing happens, the car is still not dipping or anything in one corner but not im a bit worried that nothing is happening

I have a VAGCOM but i just have not gotten around to hooking it up and stuff ive been really busy during the holidays since i work in retail so im trying to find some time

 

Ok so I went into the Audi dealership today and the guy at the desk said that he had seen the exact same things before on one other allroad and that it was just a wiring problem, since no other mechanic will touch my allroad air ride then i thought i would have to bring it into the dealer, i have an appointment on Wednesday so i will update once i get everything done. Thanks for everyones help so far.

 

Suspension issue also. Dealer just informed me that the code was a level controller pressuure sensor. I now have an estimate for two front air bag replacements at a cost of $2001 plus taxes. I questioned the fact that both bags have failed and no response other than the code noted. Any info on this issue would be appreciated re qualifying and or alternatives. I will trade the car prior to paying out this $ on it.

I saw someone else on here looking for airbags and they turned out to be like half the price from the dealer...cant rmember who try searching I know that there is a website someone posted about them
