New member intro, coming from BMW
As stated in the title, I am coming from a BMW335xi sedan which puts out a little less than 400 hp and 420 ft-lbs.
I've been wanting to move to a compact SUV but I was only considering FI engines that offer a bit more power. Naturally, I began looking at the x3 35i but wanted to wait for the 2014 facelift or the x3M. But the price and resale value of BMW was getting to me.
Looked at the Q5 and was able to test drive the 2013 3.0T a month later and really liked it. The value for the money was impressive with this vehicle (compared to the x3 35i) but it has a few less available options (like full smartphone integration, all around view cameras and a HUD) which I could forget about in a second for the money you save. Plus it feels just as fast as the x3, you don't miss the 28hp.
Did some research and discovered the upcoming 2014 SQ5 so I put a deposit down the next day. I am not sure when the delivery will be or the price for that matter. This will be my first Audi.
Doing some research into stasis tuning and its got me wondering about the tuning capabilities of the 3.0T Q5. Specifically, could it be tuned to match the SQ5? I doubt Audi would allow that.
Any experience with people buying regular Audis and then moving up to the S version? Any information would be helpful as I have zero experience and I'm sure I won't be seeing the SQ5 in the dealership anytime soon so I can compare it against the Q5.
Thanks for reading

Re: New member intro, coming from BMW
Welcome!
About your question, I'm not a specialist of Audi (it's my first one too) but I can tell you that you can "upgrade" the power just by reprogram the software. I had 200hp with little more torque in my 2.0TFSI and after a little upgrade, I have now 245hp and 277lb of torque.
I'm sure you can upgrade the Q5.
