Hello from a New Audi Owner
Hello All,
I'm new to this forum. I'm glad there is a Canadian Audi network where we can discuss Canadian related topics. I see a few people I know here, like Regina_TTS, jimmyly86, and Flogsta.
What do we all have in common? We all are (or will be) owners of the new Q5.
Mine is '09 Ibis White Premium. Exactly the same as Jimmy's... (minus the malfunctioning lights)
I haven't been excited about driving a far for a long time until I saw the Q5.
Story on how I landed in a Q5 is:
- Was always looking to replace my '99 RAV4. We were looking for almost two years.
- Always leaning towards the 08-09 RAV4, but it never really excited us.
- Decided to look at upping the stakes by looking at the GLK.
- Was millimeters aways from buying the GLK. Everything was better than the RAV4, with only a reservation against the trunk space.
- Read competing class to the GLK was the Q5 and X3. Never even heard of the Q5 or ever considered an Audi.
- Talk some snobby butt head of a salesman at the MB dealership and turned me off. Decided to stop by the Audi dealership just for a comparison before inking the deal for the GLK at another dealership.
- Never made it to MB and walked out inking a deal on the Q5.
This car is light years better than the GLK. HANDS down! GLK pales in comparison to the Q5.
The thing most attractive is the panoramic roof.
Only peeve so far is that I didn't get the NAV package.
Here are some pix. (because we all love to see pix)

Re: Hello from a New Audi Owner
So that's my story. Only thing I'd like to do now is program it like Regina_TTS. Anyone with a VCDS in the Toronto area to help out a fellow Audi owner? Much help is appreciated!.
I'm also thinking of getting the 3M stone guard. Do you think it's worth it? Any good deals in town?
Thanks!

Nice ride, Zackweed! White was my second choice.
Personally I believe the stone guard is totally worth it. It has paid for itself on two cars I had it done on just by saving me from my own driving blunders. (The lower valence on my TTS would have a big gouge it in from a lawnmower I didn't see if it weren't for the 3M!)

I think the headlights, bumper and hood may be enough. I'll probably call around the local area, as I'm not driving to Alberta...

Everything about the Q5 just fell into place... it was the perfect car for us. 1000% happy with the car.

Custom Auto Shield in Regina is is a little closer than going all the way to Shadow Tinting in Calgary if you are keen for a road trip.
