Did you ever get the timing belt replaced? I just did mine last weekend. I was Audi/VW tech for 8 years. Im contemplating doing these belt replacements from home if there's any interest. Realistically the job takes 4-5hrs.
However if your mechanically inclined and up for the challenge, I would suggest doing it yourself and saving some $$$. I would say for the novice it would take 6-7hrs.

too bad you're not out this way audi is charging anywhere from about $1250-$1900 for parts and labour for the belt/pump replacement here on the west coast. shop rate is up to $120 an hour at richmond audi.

Audi Barrie is charging 99/h and i think that is too much!!!would die if it was 120/h...they have started charging you for washing your car (extra $49)...i think that is wrong, when i got my car they told me everytime i had work done on my car they would have it washed for me...so ?

Did you get your timing belt done yet? I'm curious because I need to do mine next spring and am wondering how your cost worked out. Let us know if you ended up getting it done at the Barrie dealership. Is this something AMI motorsports could also possibly take care of?

Assuming you've checked the obvious (diverter valve) have you boost gauge tested the car yet? any fault codes?
