Re: Buddy just picked up New Audi TT RS
The TTRS is supposed to give the Cayman S a run for its money. Anyone you know compare the two? The TTRS was the car I was looking at when I was in the market in 2010 but it wasnt available then. So I got something else.

Re: Buddy just picked up New Audi TT RS
curvy tests the Cayman has a slight advantage
considering the Cayman STARTS at a couple grand more than the price of a loaded TTRS it's pretty compelling
also the Cayman is hideous while the TTRS looks great
I'd never own either car (I'm 6'5") but the TTRS would be far more interesting in my opinion. I don't really get the point of the Cayman. If you want an ugly, underpowered track car, get a Lotus. If you want a midengined Porsche get a Boxster Spyder.

Re: Buddy just picked up New Audi TT RS
Thats on a stock TT RS. So based on stock setup that is the outcome of reviewers.
But when modding you can do a lot more on the TT RS for a lot cheaper.
Based on some looking around ... replace stock with Forge intercooler, REVO software flash, Milltek cat delete pipes, HPS Haldex controller and stiffer tranny mount, H&R lowering springs and H&R sways, Scorpion hiflo exhaust and GIAC extreme re-map. This will bring up to 407hp /405 torque with sub 4 0-60.
So faster than a 911 turbo.
But if you bought one brand new would you do that and void warrantee???
I am looking into this as when I retire my current ride I was either jumping on the P-car bandwagon but this TT RS definitely has amazing potential for the price. I wanted to stick to exotic brands but all these Italian brands are a pain in the a$$ to deal with when things break or acts like a bella donna and pain in the pocket too.
Clutch replacement over 5k .... windows regulator $800. Last water pump change cost me over 4k...arrg.
