Yeah pretty easy to do! Glad I can help out and save some money, now that you saved over a $100, buy an Audiforum sticker and support the website it doesent cost a lot I think its like $5

 

I've owned a 2003 Audi ( A4 1.8T). The horn stop working a week ago and I would like to replace it, if I could find it! Does anybody knows where this sucker is hidden? I don't believe in paying the stealership for operator's maintenance!!!

I'm trying to work out how to get the key code to program these. I have the immobiliser on my car so while I can probably program the doors, the car isn't going to start.

I've got VAG. That let's you program keys once the code is in. So how do I get the code without paying $110? It's been a dead end ever since I picked up the extra keys (cut and everything).

Choose the memory position you want the new key be matched on by entering it's number (e.g. "3" for memory positon 3).
[Test]


Now press any button on the remote you want to match.
The meas. block field above will change from Not Recogn. to Recognized.

What's 'Memory Position' exactly? I only have one working key right now so I can't screw it up ...
... or was that response directed to someone else

 

If you have 1 key set up already tha tmeans memory position 1 is taken by that key so now you go into position 2 then 3 and then 4 for 4 different keys

Key Matching
Prerequisites:


All keys are either new or were adapted to this car (IMMO-ID) before.

You can match up to 8 keys.
While adapting each key, make sure to place the other keys away from the ignition lock (reader coil). The passenger seat is an adequate place.
Battery voltage at least 12.5 V.

Select Block 022.
[Go!]
The value in field 3 must be 1. If value is not 1, the key is not capable of being adapted to Immobilizer.
You can check each key in this manner.


Select Block 024.

Make sure the shown lock times in field 1, 2 and 3 are 0 (each field represents a time in minutes).


If the lock times are NOT 0:
Do NOT switch off the ignition!
Allow the car to sit for AT LEAST the number of minutes that were indicated by the fields 1-3.

There are 2 possibilities how to enter a PIN, choose the one that applies for you.

4-digit PIN
Enter zero followed by the 4-digit PIN. For example, if your PIN is 1234, enter 01234.
7-digit PIN
[Use 7-digit PIN/SKC]
Enter the 7-digit PIN, Date on which the PIN was generated by the dealer, along with the Workshop Code (WSC) and the Importer number of the dealer that generated the code.

VAG-COM will validate the data you have entered and return you to the Login screen, where the Login Code will show as "XXXXX".

Enter 21 in "Channel Number".
[Read]
The "Stored Value" is the number of keys currently matched.
Enter a "new value" corresponding to the total number of keys to be matched, including any existing keys.
The old keys are automatically beeing cleared.

[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]


Repeat the following steps until all keys have been matched:

Switch ignition off and remove key.

Insert next key to ignition and switch ignition on again.

The warning light for the Immobilizer will light up for ~2 seconds, then go out Switch ignition off and remove key.

Note: The above steps after saving the adaptation, should not exceed 60 seconds!

 

So the IMMO-ID has nothing to do the PINs right? It's the SKC or 4 digit PIN I still need.

 

What are your options if the remotes on both keys have died at the same time?
I've tried this and other ways and the new remote does not program.
