I have always been a freak when it came to the security of my car and now is no different. What security methods do you use to make sure that your baby stays safe and at your side?

 

My method is to not live in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver. I dont ever worry about my car, it aint a Veyron........

 

Alarm with a 2 way remote. Alarm goes off, remote chirps and beeps.

But i practise the following:

Never leave money or valuables in the car or ANYTHING viewable that a person may want, including a homeless guy smashing the window for a winter jacket.

All my stereos are stealth.

The club is useless, but coupled with a car alarm is one extra level of security. Mind you,i think most criminals scoff at the club. I mean, its only going to slow them down seconds.

Also, lock nuts on rims / tires.

Manual starter kill

Fuel kill switch.


I mean, you can go pretty nuts protecting your ride. But at the end of the day the crooks can just tow your car.

 

Im more worried about parking in public places and have some careless loooosers park too close or scatching/damaging your car.

 

That's what I do, my car is empty inside and i park so far away i may as well take the bus.

I tend to park a fair way away anyway, and even then I always get out of the store, or work or whatever and find that there are cars on all three sides. Murphy's law.

Stealth stereos-you mean the ones you can can the face plate off? And I think that attention will be drawn by someone towing the locked car :P

 

I take as many precautions as possible to ensure that my car is not broken into. It's something that I am terrified of. I have an alarm on my car, and I pay a lot of attention to what I leave in the car that others might be able to see when they walk by. I also park right in front of my house, as close as possible.

That happens to me. I try to park further away when I am in parking lots, to avoid door dings and people backing up into my car (I have had that happen to me before). I always end up with cars on all sides though.
