Default Turbo trouble???

My 04 Audi A4 1.8T has an engine warning light on. A friend scanned it and it read "secondary air flow incorrect" or something like that. When I start the car from cold it makes a noise like a blown exhaust (by the engine) but id stops instantly a few seconds later, or if the throttle is increased.
Anyone got any ideas what might be brewing here? Does it sound like my turbo is failing? The car runs OK otherwise.
Cheers,
Joe od

Nothing to do with your turbo. Secondary air injection system pumps fresh air into the exhaust to help deal with emissions. Could be a faulty pump or a leak in the system.
