Tire's and rims for 99 A6 2.8

Hi there.

Questions about fitment for A6 2.8

How wide can I go. Stock I think is 205/55 16. I'm thinking about purchasing 235/40 18 off of an A4.

Will it fit?
Is it too wide, will it rub?
Are the bolt patern the same?
Is the 99 A6 bolt pattern 5 x 112mm?
What about offset?

Please help.
